You mean get rid of the market so as to stop the demand for the product to be pushed or stop the pushers and hope the demand will go cold turkey? Just want to get it clear where you are prioritizing. I prefer showing the dealers and the cartels that their product is worthless via there being no market for them to sell. In my point of view it will be much simpler and easier to focus on the consumer rather than eliminating one group (or all present groups) of dealers only to see a whole new crop of cartels fill in the void left for demanding customers. Of course, we could deal with it simultaneously as well but there are other wars we've gotten ourselves into.

It's very simple. Legalize sales. Sell through goverment drug stores. Tax the ####### out of it, use the profits on drug education. This takes all the profit for the cartels and violence out of the equation. The war on drugs is a farce, Just a big money drain for government.

Basically what I had in mind, but without taxing the "#######" out of it; one, high taxes would likely create another black market, and two, I'm against "sin" taxes in principle. It would be far easier to end Prohibition than it would be to end the demand. My biggest concern is the crime that results from drug prohibition. If people want to do stupid things with their bodies, that's their own dayum business, as long as they don't harm others in the process, like from DUI.

In practicum I think you are flowing with correctness, sir.

Besides, under this approach, you get more manpower to deal with other crimes or criminal behavior, as well as a new tax base (general sales tax rates) for the creation of newer drug treatment, prevention, and research initiatives that tend to reduce consumption along the legal market lines.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

 This is one of those issues, btw, where though I could be considered a "conservative" Christian, I am on a different planet from the "Religious Right."

To be honest I think the issue has more to do with being logically sound rather than being political...
