We don't play too many videogames these days, but this is a lot of fun.

The wife doesn't seem interested in doing the missions as much as rampaging around the city, stealing cars, starting fights and running over pedestrians.

She laughs while she's doing it too. Perhaps I should be concerned...

I'm trying to get Neil to focus his attention on other things besides the new GTA. I think he will probably get it tomorrow unless I think of a new tactic for distracting him

The driving and rag-doll physics are quite impressive.

Its also cool that all the pedestrians look different. You never see the same guy twice.

I almost bought a PS3 when the price dropped at the end of last year - but ended up getting the Xbox 360 instead. The overheating problem got fixed so it doesn't have that embarrassing 30% return rate anymore.

Not enough games out for the PS3 yet - so the only reason I'd have bought it would be for the Blu-Ray player, but as we don't have a hi-def TV yet, I'm not really all that bothered about it at this point.

PS3 won't come into its own for 2-3 years anyway.

thats what i like the most, the details.. cuz the game play is stll the same, go drive around kill ####, same stuff.. but those details make the game impressive..

Handbrake turns are pretty scary - especially if you hit a couple of people in the process and knock them into a pile of dustbins.

GTA has been the next Tomb Raider - it gives the greatest interactivity between the player and the virtual environment...which, IMO, is what most realistic games should be all about. Somebody at work was playing it on our 360 - it looks great...and fun. I wouldn't let my 7 year old near it though.

i've killed Niko a couple of times, I forget that this time if u crash, you will fly out of the car too lol

Yeah I've done that - you can have some seriously nasty car accidents, especially if the guy's body hits a post or a wall when he flies out of the car.

I heard that there was some controversy over the fact that your character can (in theory) drink and drive. It probably has the most accurate simulation of drunkeness that I've seen in a game. Its impossible to get the guy to walk in a straight line and his vision blurs and vibrates.

LOL - controversy over drinking and driving, but stealing cars is ok? (Not to mention killing cops?)
