Ok i am in the same situation and have a related question. My SO , the US citizen is only graduating college now and has limited income so we are using a friend of his to co-sponsor us. I know that they both fill out the 1-134 but im confused about question 11. I see on the example 1-134 form they says N/A however, is it N/A for both my SO and the co-sponsor. In other words, they both write N/A for question 11?

Also, when asked what relation the co-sponsor is to me, he will just put "friend" while my SO will put financee right?

So I need to submit the Affidavit of Support form in the I-129f package? The one that my father fills out, correct?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Do not send with the petition.

I-134's (same form is used by any sponsor) are presented at the consulate interview......

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,

The USCIS makes no judgements... They are looking to see if you qualify to apply for the visa. Qualifications are : of marriage age (or parental permission if under marriage age), are free to marry, and have met there fiance(e) IN PERSON within the last two years, and that you can provide evidence to prove such requirements are met.

No, it wont matter. At the USCIS stage, they are not evaluating your capability to sponsor the foreign fiance fiance yet. That happens during the interview stage, and for the interview you'll submit the I-134 where your father will appear as the co-sponsor.

I suggest you read the GUIDES so you can have a better idea of what you need to send when, and how to fill out the forms.

Good luck.

Hi

For a Co-sponsor, the correct form will depend on if he lives with you or not. This is of coarse when you adjust status.

For your interview most consulates and Embassy's will accept these forms as well.

It should be noted that you are not REQUIRED to provide either of these forms at your interview, but the consulates and Embassy's suggest that these are an easy method of proving your financial income.

If he lives in his own household, you both will file form I-864

If he lives with you, you will file form I-864 and he will use form I-864A

As an example of what the Embassy or Consulate will require, click here:

I-864 is used for immigrant visas (IV) and for adjustment of status (AOS)... for non-immigrant visas (NIV) typically it is the I-134 (at the consulate)... some consulates may accept the I-864 for NIV, but they are not suppose to.

Per the instructions: (pretty clear and straightforward)

Submit a completed and signed Form G-325A (Biographic Information) for you and a completed and signed Form G-325A for your fiancé(e).

Give USCIS a passport-style color photograph of yourself and a passport-style color photograph of your fiancé(e), with both photos taken within 30 days of the date of filing this petition.

Hi all, just wanted to confirm what has already been said. You are definitly able to file with the cosponsor. Fill out the G-325 with whatever info you do have. Fill out the I-134 with whatever info you have. I am in graduate school and make NO money, so I used my mother as my cosponsor. She filled out the I-134 as well. I did include the evidence asked for in case the embassy asked for it but all they wanted to see was my moms I-134. For the I-864, I did the same thing. No problems at the interview. My husband (the non-USC) is now our sole financial support and its all cool with the gov. As long as someone is paying the bills, they don't care who.
