I think this is my first post, but I am getting confused about what information is needed to be sent with DS-230 part 1?

Currently here's what I got

DS-230 part 1 completed and signed

DS-230 Part 2 completed and UNsigned

2 passport photos of the beneficiary

1 photocopy of passport biographic information

Am I supposed to include all other documents copies along with this part (i.e. police certificate photocopies, marriage certificated , etc? or would those be taken to the consulate/embassy when the interview date is set??

Thanks I would greatly appreciate your help

Thank you guys for all your help...

would those Police certificate, marriage certificate be translated, and accompanied by a photo copy of the original or would they need the originals in the native language?

Those original documents are very important/hard to obtain and I am not sure if I have to send those originals in (marriage certificate, birth certificates), .

I think I am still confused

Those original documents are very important/hard to obtain and I am not sure if I have to send those originals in (marriage certificate, birth certificates), .

I think I am still confused

Before you send anything, as Diana has mentioned, it depends on which embassy the beneficiary will be interviewing at. Some embassies are 'Appointment' posts and some are 'Standard' posts.

With Standard posts you do not send in all the documentation to NVC, the beneficiary brings it with them to the interview, Appointment posts require that you send all the information to NVC.

You can go here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3176.html

Choose your embassy from the drop down list, the next page you are taken to will give you instruction on what you will need - or not need - to send to NVC. It will say right at the top whether it is an Appointment post or a Standard post.

Regardless of which it is, when you do have to produce the documents, they will want the originals from whichever government office issues them for the beneficiaries country. Some may require translation - if so you need to produce the original and the translation. Again, more detailed instructions can be found at the link above.
