We original applied for a K1 visa, my AOS is being processed with no problems. My daughter came with me on a K2 Visa, I made the mistake of not processing her at the same time as mine ( Cause of financial reasons) . When I did apply for her AOS, I sent it to the chicago address, where somehow it was missed placed or lost. After many calls to immigration and visits to Homeland Security in Pittsburgh they informed me after 8 weeks that Chicago never received it and I should either wait it out to see if they find it or send a duplicate package of her AOS to them. I put a stop payment on the first cheque and resent the package with a new cheque for them. A week later, amazingly I received notification of receipt of her First Package. I can't believe after all calls and visits it just shows up out of nowhere. My problem is now and no one seems to have answers at USIC is that I would think the package is no good. I just got notice that her case was put on hold, since payment was stopped. I can't seem to get ahold of anyone that knows anything to help me out. The duplicate package is there with the payment. It's just so frustrating trying to talk to USIC, they loved to read by the book and just make me crazy. Does anyone know how I can get a hold of Chicago or someone else I can call that has answers, thats all I want is answersssssssssssssssssssssss............She was scheduled for fingerprinting today, but USIC yesterday told me not to take her, since her first package was put on hold. What do I do ................?????????..

It was so easy doing the original paperwork to immigrate. BUT, once you arrive look out..........it gets harder and harder. I am starting to realize why United states has so many illegal immigrates. The paperwork and all the hassle that goes with trying to do it right, is almost enough to do illegally. Please someone out there just give me some information on what I should do or just a little support. THIS PROCESS IS MAKING ME CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!

I'm afraid I can't answer your question but you'll probably get a better response if you post this in the AOS forum.

You should make an infopass appointment and take all your stuff with you - perhaps the person you get will be able to help you - on another note - did the second check clear yet? Maybe the second set of documents will click in next. Good Luck

I wouldn't try to come her illegally - who wants to be afraid to look over their shoulders day and night - not knowing which day they will end up in jail and be bussed or flown back to their country - not for me.

Definitely use info pass to try to solve your problem. It sounds like you did everything correctly but that the delay was more than you could handle. The USCIS is a huge bureaucracy with millions of applications of all sorts each year. Foul-ups are likely to occur. If you have copies of the application documents and explain the situation to the immigration officer at your local office, they will at least be able to put a search in to find the second application with the good check.

We all know that this system isn't great and very slow. But, you are always better off to do it the legal way and just wait and wait and wait.
