hello!

i am kind of in the dark with how many police certificates i need for my interview.

didn't get our NOA2 yet...so there's time...but wanted to know beforehand...

so...the question is about me living in America for 14 months (on a J1 visa) and returning last september. does that mean i need a police cleareance from there as well? and if i do need it how do i go about to get it since i am not there anymore?

can my fiance get it for me? or our lawyer?

I129-F sent: 03-17-2008

NOA1: 03-24-2008

NOA2: 06-04-2008

Interview: 07-10-2008 - APPROVED!!!

Going back home: 07-23-2008 yaaaaay

Court house wedding: 10-09-2008

AOS sent: 10-16-2008

NOA1 for AOS, EAD and AP: 10-22-2008

Case transfered to CSC: 11-07-2008

Biometrics: 11-12-2008

EAD an AP approved: 12-23-2008

AOS approved: 2-27-09

In our K-3 packet check-off it said that you didn't need a certificate from the US if you had lived or were living there. I assume because it's all linked into the same database that DOS can check anytime they want.

Not sure if it's the same for K-1, but I would assume that it is.

Timeline

7/11/2007 - I-130 NO1A Hard Copy

8/13/2007 - Son Drayson born in Sudbury, Ontario.

9/6/2007 - I-129F NO1

10/15/2007 - Trip to Toronto for Dray's Consular Birth Abroad, SS application, and US passport

3/18/2008 - NOA2 for both I-129 and I-130!! No touches or email notifications at all!

4/2/2008 - estimated that NVC received

4/9/2008 - estimated that K-3 was sent from NVC to USEMontreal

4/16/2008 - Received hardcopy from NVC

4/16/2008 - Packet 3 Received

4/24/2008 - Packet 3 Sent to USEMontreal

7/14/2008 Interview in Montreal!!!!

7/17/2008 Visa received

7/18/2008 POE Sault Ste Marie Michigan

8/21/2008 moving day...back to Anchorage, Alaska!

4/20/2009 AOS granted, 10 year Green Card arrives, Social Security # given :)

You do not need to worry about a police certificate from the US....they will do a background check.
