I got a couple of PMs asking about the email/letter format I've used to inquire about our case number assignment and having said that, I would like to share with you the exact template I used to get a affirmative response from NVC. I hope this helps all the other applicants in here with pending case number assignments. God Bless

The following is what we may find on the guides and that's how I've allways proceeded like and everytime I email them, they take 5 working days for a response.

The NVC’s e-mail address is NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

In order to ensure a prompt response:

-The Subject Line of the e-mail should be the relevant NVC Case Number.

-Provide the applicant’s name and date of birth and the petitioner’s name and date of birth.

-If you are an attorney, include the name of the law office requesting the information.

-If the petition is employment-based, include the company/organizational name.

-Reference only one case per e-mail.

The following is what I use on my emails to NVC:

case# on subject line :

case nbr: XXXYYYYYYYYYY

Petitioner: Last, First Middle Name

Petitioner's Date of Birth: xx/xx/xxxx

Beneficiary: Last, First Middle Name

Beneficiary's Date of Birth: xx/xx/xxxx

Please provide status on our case.

Thank you very much!

I hope it helps you guys!

I just sent an email using the format described above from VJ. I did immediately receive an autoreply, so at least I'm sure the email went in to NVC. We are waiting for our case number now at 25 days. Timelines that I've seen updated have been running 22-29 days. I have seen a case on VJ where the petition was lost between noa2 and NVC.....as you've read, it does happen....why they explain to make a duplicate copy of your whole package. The couple had waited about 6 months. This was a few years ago. This is an update from April 2016.

Haaaaaaa yaaaaa I had to google this up. I knew it was in VJ but couldn't remember where to look for it.

I think thats part of newbies problems if they don't know where/what tab to look for things. And I wanted to point out my response was a current one, and that people should receive an immediate auto reply now. Not sure if they did in 2008 or not.

Thanks for the links you have posted. I've forwarded your link above to my fiance' several times for her to be familiar with each process as we go through them. I was a CR-1 coming through here in 2012, sorry to say I have to do this again; but have talked to several people from Youtube, Facebook, and expat forums who went through the same thing, so once hearing it from others, it made me not feel so bad about it. We are looking forward to moving to Dumaguete in about 3 years! Thanks Hank......old Cary, we've been friends outside of meeting on VJ and now FB for years now also.

Looking forward to another trip over in May for her interview and a little vacation.

Dumaguete huh? You, Ned, Bud ... and a few others I know there.

3 years is about right, that will give your fiancee time to acquire her citizenship before you move back to the Phils.

... ;)

She said she doesn't really want to even acquire her citizenship, but I think its a good idea she does. We plan on living in Florida for winter months, and 8 months in Dumaguete. Yaaaaaaa I talk to Bud, and Lucy a lot on FB, and Cory, Ned's friend; he and his fiancé just got married in SD April 16th I think it was.

We spent 2 weeks in Dumaguete for the Buglasan Festival in October; hot springs, dolphin cruise is where our profile picture came from, on the front of the Dolphin One....at Bais. I'll have to read up to do the AOS, SSN, etc, and Yes I think we'll stay long enough to get her citizenship, so traveling back and forth won't be a hassle; and the kids can go to college in Florida in 10 years if we desire; fiancé is enrolling at UP open campus so she can work towards her degree while in USA. I met a lot of expats in Dumaguete who have lived there 10 to 20 years, several Aussies, who love it there. I love to dive, and there are plenty of things to do outdoors, like in Neds videos. I'll be there for about a month in May. As soon as she completes her medicals and kids, and PASSES, then I'll order flights. We are doing Mt. Pinatubo, and then a group of us climbing Mt. Pulag near Baguio. Let me know if you are ever heading over there.

Are you retiring there? TC We are driving up through TN in July for wedding in Indiana July 13th. Are you near 75/24 ?? We can meet up for lunch and a FB selfie!! haa She wants to see the countryside, Stone Mountain, Atlanta Aquarium, so we'll drive up over a few days.
