Jackie - glad you survived - be careful

Amal - congrats on the weight loss!

Jeanne - I have a bluejay that likes to hide peanuts in my planter pots on my balcony. My husband was telling me I had a enough flowers and didn't need more. But I had to get a few marigolds - they were pretty and cheap.

Bridget - thanks for the idea about a career center. I just called and their is an orientation to our local one in Spanish on Friday.

T&A - we went to the local office SSA 2 weeks after his arrival - without the EAD stamp. I brought the printout (I think it is in the signature of user TracyTN) in case the workers didn't understand he was eligible. Luckily ours did. You can get the application online and fill out before hand, although it isn't too long.

Has anybody had a problem getting the SS card if their husband didn't get the EAD on arrival? I was wondering about this but my work is telling me that they require the letter that he is given when he applies to put him on my insurance so we will go on Friday. He will have been here 15 days by then. I was told we needed our marriage certificate, visa, passport, I 94 to bring to the office, anything else?

Our news - sent the AOS packet today!!!:dance: Tried not to be too bitchy last night as we printed, reviewed, signed, copied many, many forms.

Positive thoughts for everyone!!!

 Ever had a day you should have STAYED in bed? This would have been it for me.

My wheel is destroyed beyond repair. Luckily the air stayed in all four tires. The shaking stopped when I had a repair shop put a back tire on the front and the donut on the back.

Drove on the spare to Naperville for Ibrahim's biometrics. I now have about 80 miles on a donut that can shred or blowup at any moment. Came home and called around a million places and found out to my dismay that my 2007 Sentra can ONLY have a 2007 Sentra wheel on it. AND to complicate this issue, it is $175 and none available in Illinois  Ibrahim calls home, gets money transferred and we ordered the wheel. It should arrive on Friday. Until then, I am driving on a spare.

It seems everyday, something comes along that requires money that I do not have. Alhamdulillah.

Jackie

hey thanks to my buddy's here, I really do love all of you. OOHHHHHHHHHHHH the BEST thing that happened today, I called the pharmacy and told them I could not afford a month of medication, just 1/2 and they gave me 15 pills!! I got to the 'wheel challenged' car and popped one immediately. Finally, finally my husband agrees I should not go off or adjust my meds on my own. 5mg it is til I am ready to stop. (oh the cartoons are funny :) )

ya i got the olive oil thing too....supposed its a "miracle

My Grandmother swore on the miracle cure of olive oil, whenever I got sick, first question where it hurts, throat, stomach, legs, than my Grandmother would warm up the olive oil on the stove and rub it on the part you said was hurting. I always thought it was a Latino thing, but now I see that also Arabs use it. It is a old time remedy, I of course don’t use it now that I am older, but I love olive oil in my cooking.

Jackie- ####### is going on girl, take care of yourself, and sedate yourself  Go and rub some olive oil on your head

G-Girl, Today at the DMV I saw this man who was the spitting image of Ted Bundy, I thought of you, Heh Heh.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Has anyone seen WOM lately? I haven't seen her and I hope she is OK. The weather, etc has been bad down her way and I am praying for her safety (and her husband's of course! and the broccoli and terrace :) )

Everyone cross fingers and hope and pray! Tomorrow a work-aquaintence (the chemical guy who comes and services stuff for my work) is coming in just to see me because my former (and awesome) boss called him to let him know I hated it there and was ready to give up. He has offered for 3 years to help me find a better job. He knows like EVERYONE because he does detergents, chemicals, and cleaners for most of the businesses in NW AR.

Jax, I'm glad to hear that you're ok.

I on the other hand am getting my butt beat by allergies. I sound like a cat coughing up a hairball trying to scratch my ears. And my balance is off from the plugged ears, kinda feel tipsy. lol. I left work early to come home to sleep. I woke up about an hour ago.

Hope everyone had a great Wednesday!
