That's right. There is policy about the flights from Philippines must purchased the tickets in Philippines. My husband booked a flight for me last April for May 11th flight coz we expect that our Visa process will be ok..but just last week, the AA called him and they said I should purchase the ticket in Philippines so if ever I will get my Visa, I'll go to Manila to stamp my passport in the CFO and to purchased my ticket.

Again. Who is setting this policy and where did you hear it from? Is this AA specific? Coz when someone says "policy", people tend to assume that one cannot buy or book a ticket from Philippines to USA from anywhere except the Philippines. Which of course is not true because for one, I was able to book my wifes flight here in the US and we already have iten, confirmation, and even seat numbers. As you can see, even some people on this thread were succesful in booking their flights from the US.

I've heard a lot of "rumors" about this policy too but nothing concrete so if you could specify on your statement, it would be great for all of us.

Well, I'm just telling you what me and my husband had experienced. I don't know if they only did it to me and not in others.., or whatever. I'm happy for those who had a successful in booking their flights. For me, I have no choice but to do that thing in Manila.

i have heard from someone that booking for flight to US must be made here in the philippines...what im worried right now,is that my flight was booked by my fiance from US...i just receive the confirmation from the northwest airlines about the confirmation and everything...

my question is, is this okay that my fiance was the one who booked my flight and the booking was made from US?

do i have no problem during my flight?

by the way,my flight will be on may 23....

any suggestion and opinions are highly appreciated....

thanks....

Your gonna be fine...

YES some airlines have policies, but not NWA, I flew NWA before and my ticket was purchased using my mother's credit card and had no problem coming back to the US.

The most important part is NWA knowing your Confirmation #. BTW since your a Filipino Citizen you might pay Travel tax, and be prepare to pay Terminal fee also.. All flyers pay Terminal fee..

Good Luck and be sure come to NAIA 3hrs before your flight....

Both people that have said there is a policy used American Airlines. So maybe this is an American Airlines thing but I cant find anything about it on their website.

I am sure it must be an airline policy. I don't know how they can really tell so many people that they don't want their business, but I guess they just want to look out only for themselves, not for the travelers they are stranding.

ours is NWA... no problem if it's purchase in US or Phil. Purchasing in NWA in their website, and click resident of Philippines is cheaper though ..

You can find this through clicking more search option then click country of resident.--Philippines

Yah this credit card thing depends on the airline company.. coz my mom flew Philippine Airline.. I paid her ticket through my credit card, I send her phtocopy of my id and credit card I used for the purchase but she was not still allowed to board the plane ... .. because I covered some of my credit card #... coz Im a lil bit scared... if mom will misplaced it. MOm said the check in staff said she need the full # of my credit card.. So mom called me,, I talk to the lady and gave my full #. Probably some airline are like this..

I booked my wife's flight on PAL too and there's a notice on the receipt. It actually said that if it was purchased by someone else, the passenger must have a copy of the credit card used and a copy of the valid id. but I'll be flying with her so this is no biggie.

Joyce, if you called them and they confirm it and they said everything is ok then no problem na. Maybe it's only in AA or whatever. Just be ready in your trip and good luck in your America life. God bless.
