We filed the CR-1, and my husband is here in Texas, he started working about 3 weeks ago and his boss told him today that when he faxed his information to HR that they needed his A# he hasn't received his greencard in the mail yet, he does have his social security card.... is the A# one of the numbers on the bottom portion of his visa in his passport?. I would appreciate any help you have.... Thanks.... He's been in the US since March 28th. he received his Social security card on April 7th but no Greencard as of yet.

Angel,

If you look at his stamped visa in his passport you can find the A# listed on it. On the far right hand side under the IMMIGRANT VISA in bold letters is his IV Case number and under that is his A#.

It is listed as Registration Number and at my husband's POE the officer hand wrote the number on his visa after they stamped his POE date. It states the type of visa and the A#.

Hope this helps.

Mary

Angel you are very welcome. Also, if he does not get his green card within 60 days of his POE you might want to contact USCIS.

" If you were granted permanent resident status or entered the U.S. with an immigrant visa more than 60 days ago and have not received your first permanent resident card, please call 1-800-375-5283 "
taken from https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp.

Missy,

A CR-1 applicant is married to the USC and they have work and travel authorization with their green cards. The AOS is approved prior to the applicant getting their green card; so this green card takes longer to get approved.
