Hi everyone.

I am in the process of brining my mom here to live with me. I got RFE for my birth sertificate. When i called NVC and ask they what is up since i never heard about this one before they told me it is a new thing and now they going to ask for original birth sertificate of petitioner... :(

if i just knew that before i sent everything in! i told them that they have translated and sertified copy but they said it is not good enaugh. they told me they not even sure if they still have it since i filed it with original I-130 with INS and not NVC.. so, i ordered another notorazed and translated copy that going to be overnighted to me today. so, one i get it im going to mail it in.

SO, before sending your DS-230 in make sure you dont need to mail your birth sertificate as well... :bonk:

I am sure that is the reason because they want to make sure you are related. I am waiting for my wife NOA2 but for her I don't think I need that and I also have I-130 approved for my brother and in that application they ask for my and my brother birth certificate so they can check we have same parents on out certificates. Good day to every one.

the notorized and translated copy is not enough, i mean u have to sent the ORIGINAL or dublicate (the dublicate is what they called " certified copy from an appropriate authority (the issuing entity). " In russia ZAGS dont give copy, it gives ÏÎÂÒÎÐÍÎÅ ñâ-âî î ðîæäåíèè (dublicate).

Document Requirements

The applicant and each family member who will accompany the applicant to the United States will need to submit the following original documents or certified copies of the documents listed in this section from an appropriate authority (the issuing entity). In addition to sending the original documents or certified copies of the documents to the NVC, the applicant and each accompanying family member must submit a photocopy of the original documents or certified copies of the documents.
