We've been discussing this.....It might seem morbid to some but both my parents died unexpectedly. In both cases it was a hell of a mess. So , have you two made a new will yet ?

21/12/2005 arrive in time for Christmas with my baby !!

18/02/2006 We are married in Coeur D'Alene !!

16/05/2006 AOS and EAD sent off to the windy city. ( day 1)

27/05/2006 NOA's received...woo hoo !! ( day 12 )

09/06/2006 Appointment letter for biometrics arrives ( day 25 )

30/06/2006 Biometrics 11am at Spokane ( day 46 )

22/07/2006 Appointment letter for AOS interview arrives (day 68 )

04/08/2006 Without any warning.....EAD card arrives in the post !! ( day 81 )

24/08/2006 AOS interview at 7.30 am ( day 101 )

24/08/2006 APPROVED !!!

28/08/2006 Welcome to America letter arrives...gee thanks guys !! ( day 105 )

02/09/2006 Green card arrives ...woo hoo !! ( day 110 ) We can relax until 2008 :)

No. Seems like the smart thing to do, but we haven't gotten around to it. We also don't own anything to bequeath to anyone, except for thousands of books, hundreds of CDs, and some DVDs. But we're not anywhere near the stage of our lives where we would be accumulating anything of real value.

Permanent Green Card Holder since 2006, considering citizenship application in the future.

We've both been very bad. We keep talking about getting it done but haven't actually done it yet. We really should do something about it soon.

08/17/08: Mailed N400 to TSC

08/19/08: USPS attempted delivery

08/20/08: TSC received N400

08/21/08: TSC cashed check

09/02/08: Received NOA...........Priority date: 08/20/08

..............................................Notice date : 08/22/08

09/02/08: Received Biometrics Notification

09/18/08: Biometrics completed - Charlotte DO

10/24/08: Received Interview Letter

12/08/08: Interview @ 1:00pm. APPROVED!

01/05/09: Oath Ceremony 10:00AM. Now officially a USC!!!

I've had a will in place ever since I was going for my surgery. I also wrote letters (at the time) to my mom & dad & also made a farewell video to them. It was a messed up time for me, but I was told that I would prolly die, so I did a lot within the couple of weeks waiting for it....

but there ya go.

Angelica, I'm so sorry about your parents.

i know its something we need to do... especially since our families are so different in regards to medical issues, religion, burials and such.

we've already adjusted the life insurance policies though.

Have no will but after we get married we are planning on it.

K-1 journey, AOS/EAD and ROC in my timeline

2011 March 31 - Sent off Naturalization pkg overnight to Texas

2011 April 1 - Arrived in Texas at 10:21 am

2011 April 1 - NOA (rec'd via snail mail April 8)

2011 April 7 - Cheque cashed

2011 May 5 - Biometrics (letter rec'd via snail mail April 15)

2011 May 9 - Placed in line for interview scheduling

2011 June 13 - Rec'd yellow letter (no change in status online)

2011 June 23 - Rec'd text that my case has been scheduled for interview

2011 August 1 - Interview (rec'd via snail mail June 27) PASSED

2011 August 3 - Rec'd email that my case has been scheduled for Oath

2011 September 1 - Oath ceremony (rec'd snail mail Aug 5)

2011 September 1 - All done, yeah.

Neither of us has any real assets to leave... I've thought about it but it seems silly to write a will just to say 'my brother gets my CD collection and my parents get all the junk I left behind in Australia, and my husband gets everything else...' If we had kids it would be different...

STAGE 2B - Applying for AOS to GC Approval - 9 months, 4 days (279 days)

STAGE 3 - Lifting Conditions. Filing (19 Dec 2007) to Approval (December 11 2008)

STAGE 4 - CITIZENSHIP (filing under 5-year rule - residency start date on green card Jan 11th, 2006)
