My co-workers and I are having a discussion on where the "TOP" of a cart is.

I say its the very top of the cart naturally, where the black graphics are.

They say its what I consider the "Counter" or Table of the Cart.

Can you guys help me out? which is it?

Though if I were holding something and someone told me to put it down "on top of the cart", I'd assume they were talking about the table and not that they wanted me to get a ladder and set it down on the roof of it.

Context, I guess. But in general I'd stick with my answer above.

raphel...your coworkers aren't too smart, are they

No they arent! I told the guy to take the graphics off the "Top" portion of the cart and he took off the $600.00 Vinyl advertisment that was on the table portion of the cart. So now were out 600 bucks.

I agree with you. The top area (the black section) is the cart, while the lower area could be classified as a desk or shelving unit. The only explanation I could come up with as to why your coworkers might believe that's the "top of the cart" is if the "real top" was sold separately and added on later. If that were the case, then they might be referring to what was once the top, but is now no longer the top. Otherwise, I have no idea what they're getting at.

Nope, it was already put together with Signage on the "Top" and an Advertisment vinyl spanning the whole table portion of the cart. He took the vinyl off the table portion instead of the Signage on the "Top" where the black graphics are in this photo.
