Finding the A# on the check

Hi all

I was just trying to figure out which might be the correct EAC (ESC?) number.

The front of the check shows an ESC number, but it only has 7 digits while the back is printed with several possible numbers, but both of these are just 10 digits each. One of the ten digit numbers is similar to the ESC number on the front of the check?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

kelly

Firstly A# is alien registration number, that is not what you are looking for in order to track case using USCIS status website.

For the most part lately the numbers on the check may be different that the actual number on the NOA1 letter, and also lately USCIS seems to be taking some time adding new cases to their online tracking system, usually around the time you get the NOA1 letter.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Our check came back with an LIN followed by a hand scratched seven digit number that wouldn't be accepted by the case status. When the I-797C receipt notice came in, they added a "*00" between the LIN and that seven digit number, that went through.

I do not get impatient after first sending in an application, it's when months and years that go by and expiration dates expire when I get concerned for my wife. Hardly ten days went by when we got the receipt notice. But did send the application in 88 days before her anniversary date, got lazy on that, should have completed it 90 days before. Actually was going nuts trying to get the ten year green cards in and making preparations just in case they didn't. But they finally came in, time to take a break from immigration, ha, least for a couple of days.

Hey Kelly,

mine is vermont also. I had exact receipt number written on the check, i just added *

Look on the check, on the front. below banks routing number. I had hand writting.

It was ESC(it was hard to figure it out for me because "s" letter in esc was not clear...

it was like this esc00XXXXXXX. When i tried it was error, so i just simly added *, please follow, esc*00xxxxxxx.

Did say my appl. was received on april 7th, and it is pending in vermont, just standard notice like for I-751.

Try it. I hope this heps.

Hi Klanecky - thanks for the suggestion. I tried it, and it definitely seems right, but I am still getting an error from the system. It's probably too early. I'll keep trying in the next few days

thanks

State department is just like the USCIS, call a toll free number to be told to check your passport status online, they did post they received my application last year, but never updated it. Took 3 1/2 months for a two week passport, I even checked it two months after I received my passport, still the same old message.

Did get my tax returns done early this year and sent them off February the 3rd, was waiting on the 1099's always errors, still waiting for my tax refund, do you spot a trend here?
