been there done that, they can't even see the case.

Just to make sure everyone is on the same line here:

She has been in the states for two weeks, K1 approved, accepted, stamped and everything.

The uscis rep at atlanta airport typed and "E" isntead of a "K". Plain and simple typo tha now sohows up in homeland security.

Hoping someone has a phone number or email stashed away for just such a case.

thanks!

Amazing as it sounds..they didn't ask for it.

Because, they can't do anything.

I have an appointment for friday to drive up to atlanta. thank goodness my schedule at work allows me to do that!

the only thing apparently that the people at the 1800 number can do is tell you the status of your app.

doesn't help me a whit, though.

almost, roflmao

this is so sad it really is funny.

I feel like I am at the Kiev airport again. I am just waiting for the kerchunking to begin. stamp stamp kerchunk kerchunk!!

USCIS finished with this case long ago...they have nothing to do with it..it will not be in their syste.

Lookup the web site for Atlanta Hartsfield airport...I would bet that CBP (immigration) has a phone number listed. Call them and ask for advice. Maybe they can look up their paperwork and correct it.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

What do youmean USCIS will have finished with this case long ago? All visa holders and LPRs within the united states are the business of USCIS, they don't just stop when you get into the country. Data was incorrectly input into the SAVE System which the SSA then did a check against. SAVE is a USCIS system. USCIS are really the only people that should correct this mistake.

This case was approved long ago by the USCIS and transferred to the Sate Dept thru the NVC to be sent to the appropriate Consulate. Calling USCIS about this K1 case will do no good, as they are finished with it.

Now if you have filed for AOS, etc. then that is another issue, but has nothing to do with CBP improperly encoding the visa type upon entry to the US.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

Yes, the case mistake is now listed under the dept of homeland security! So, on the on one hand it isn't uscis anymore but, you would think that someone, somewhere in that dept has some idea-and power-to address this situation.

I have the number for the atlanta airport--good shot! but...they are not there on mondays....:( Will call them tomorrow and see if they can do anything about THEIR mistake. I am not holding my breath, though. haha

I now know the job you couldn't pay me enough to work. the 1-800 line!! I coudn't stand having no power to do anything for someone.

Will let you know what I find out tomorrow.

Of course, if anyone has that secret number to immigration in atlanta, let me know. I am waiting to be p****d off when after traveling two hours I find out that THEY can't do anything either. And that is what really has me hot--no one can really tell me at this time who I need to talk to, to fix this.

Our government is broken and no one cares.

Oh, the email from the uscis site doesn't work. I reported a year ago, and it is still no go. Great!!

Called the immigration dept at ATL. WooHoo! Someone to talk to!! Mr Suarez put the chnge into the system--needed pic of visa and I94. You just have to wonder why the 1-800 people can not even think of that...probably not allowed to....

Thanks all!

Still no magic phone number but common sense appears to have prevailed.

Went bqck to SSA Monday. WooHoo!! She is in the system as she should have been. In and out in less than 20 minutes. Card is on the way.

I am still amazed at the lack of authority at the 1-800 number level. I can only guess that they are paid by the call/minute.....

The answer was to call the point of entry, talk to someone who could do something.

Thanks all!
