Abdo, maybe you should protest the picture by not visiting Visa Journey anymore. It obviously upsets you too much when others have even a slightly different interpretation of your religion.

Actually, what you said is that she is not Muslim. You keep doing this to women on the board who are Muslim. It may not be considered modest to have kissing pictures up (my husband would never approve but everyone is different!!), and you may be trying to provide advice, but you are doing something that is very serious in ISLAM. There are more constructive ways to provide advice or counseling, instead of pronoucing takfir on everyone, which is also considered very poor Islamic manners... or do you consider it OK and normal? Would it be fine if someone were to go to your house and start telling the neighbors you are not Muslim?

In the future, I would suggest somehting similar to this:

A. letting people be who they are

B. If you absolutely have to say something or explode, find a NICE way to say it instead of the knee-jerk takfir reaction, like: "Hi! I am so happy for your husband getting the visa. It is so difficult to be seperated from one's spouse for any ammount of time. I can see you two really love each other. I have a question for you: how does your husband feel about the picture of you two kssing? I thought that was against modesty in Islam and I was wondering your thoughts on it." It's still kind of not good, but that's about as nicely as you could ask it.

A sit-out? But what will i do while I'm at work? I do need to do ab exercises. I confess to not doing any in like 2 weeks.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

Julianna, you said it nicely. Surely, option B is the way one should approach. Being polite should be a great quality of a Muslim.
