Hi, I am new to this forum though I did use the forms when filing (very helpful!) Our package was recieved by the Vermont Service Centre on the 21st of April- from what I understand they should have already sent my American fiance a letter saying they have recieved the package? And thats the first noticfe- or...does it take longer and its actual approval of the case that we are waiting for? (I searched the archives but couldn't find anything answering this) So is there an average wait time? And should I call to follow things up?

Gawd its taking too long already- kudos to all of you going through the same heartache!

Missing someone gets easier everyday because even though you are one day further from the last time you saw them, you are one day closer to the next time you will.

Congrats on filing your paperwork. In order to help out with any questions you will have during this process it is always helpful if you fill in your timeline otherwise people have to ask for details in order to best help you out. The notice your fiancee rec'd should say what kind of notice it is, likely the NOA1(I think is says I-797C). It is a process and if you search in the timelines for the country you live in that might give you an idea of how long the process is taking. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Hi- thanks for your reply! :star: It is the first NOA, and I live in the UK and he lives in the States. So- who recieves the notice- him or me? I just want to know that the package is ok and they dont need more info etc!! The ordinary wait is long enough :(

Hi! Congrats on filing. He'll receive NOA 2... you won't hear from anyone til your application is sent to the consulate in the UK. I filed in February (for my UK fiance) with Vermont and received NOA 2 two months and one day after the date of NOA 1. You should search in the timelines to see similar timelines to you! This way you can get a sense of who filed near you and who's already been approved.

Good luck!

Thanks, that was a very helpful response- I'll wait up to a month before freaking out :)
