Pro marijuana legalization rally interrupts 5 de mayo celebration...and 2 little girls' performance.

We were in Dallas this friday and saturday for the Roger Waters concert. On saturday they had a few blocks closed to traffic for a little 5 de mayo celebration. I can't believe this group of young people (they didn't look older than 18) thought this would be a proper place to protest.

The look on the mom's face says it all.

Wether you are for or against legalization, I think you will agree with me that this was uncalled for and out of place.

Caro

But how was the concert ??!!?? Details, please!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Nagi, Justin wants you to know he highly approves of your post

It was great!

Great Sound, great crowd...he opened with "in the flesh" and then "mother". They play dark side of the moon in it's entirety for the second part  RW gets really into it when he sings "perfect sense", it's awesome. We were nervous about them playing "leaving Beirut" in Texas, with some lines that are a little controversial, but the crowd was awesome and cheered them all the way. We met one of the guys that painted the pig and bought him a beer! huge pig too, people were holding on to it and they would not let it go...but they finally did and it flew off into the Dallas sky :P

We saw the same show together in Argentina, march 2007. The stadium was a lot bigger, so it was cool that the one in Dallas was smaller so the sound was different. So it was my 2nd time seeing them live...and Justin's 5th!!! and now he's going to the Houston show tonight! but I can't go with him because I can't take monday off from work :crying:

I was only able to take some pictures with my camera phone, but I'll try to upload them

Saludos,

Caro

Damn! Poor kids.... upstaged by future VJers?? :D

With these kids' sense of place, I don't think we'll see them on VJ...they'll probably be asking immigration questions at the desperate housewives forum

IM sooooo jealous I wanna :girlwerewolf2xn:

There you go, the few pictures my humble cell phone allowed me to capture

He got his pig back? I thought it was lost forever in the California desert aftre Coachella

It's a different pig every show, and ussually has a message about the local situation. For example, the one for Argentina talked about the missing people from the military dictatorship.

Some things they repeat though, I think last pigs all have had something supporting Obama, and the legends "religion divides", and "fear buils walls"

Ohh, good to know he's got more than one pig, though he did seem pretty upset about losing one!

It was the people from the festival that were all in tears about it, they wanted to keep the pig

Yeah, the pig is everything. I thought it was lost, too.

Thanks so much , Caro!
