The weight of evidences?

I don't start LOC until this next winter... but I was wondering-- do certain evidences "weigh" more than others? For example, does a joint bank account "weigh" less than a baby in proof? Or is it just sort of the whole picture they take into account? I'm assuming a baby isn't always a free pass, as it were, to getting approved-- I had figured it was more dependant on the overall picture.

Definitely a baby would be a greater proof. But send all proofs that you have.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Julianna, your maternal instincts have been showing up big lately. :)

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

LOL! I'm more worried about not having one by LOC and having to send in regular "proofs."

LOL! no, there is nothing wrong with that AT ALL! I just keep reading people's lists of proofs and lots of them include baby stuff. I was hoping that regular proof is just as good. But really, this is not about a baby for me... it's about the weight of proof. We have joint accoutns, joint credit cards, own a car in joint, have joint auto insurance and joint utilities.

They all add up to showing proof of a bonafide marriage. Life insurance is a plus especially if there's a baby involved. Pictures frequently asked for also.

More ammo the better!

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Thanks! So is this sort of like assembling the proof for the Cr-1? We were blessed to have a breeze of a time with that, not sure why or how but not arguing that one!

Focus on the overall picture, particularly financial evidence that 1) spans the entirety of your marriage and 2) shows that you have co-mingled your assets and liabilities. From what I have seen, 95% of all RFE's at this stage are related to insufficient financial evidence. I cannot deny that having a child together does "look good" for your case, but IMHO one should not assume that one will be approved solely because of the child and neglect to show "the rest of the picture".

A bank account weighs nothing - its just a number - a baby about 6 or 7 pounds when born and 200 pounds or so when fully grown.

It is the entire picture that proves the relationship.

Being in capitalist America, the greatest weight is put on financial picture. That is what my lawer said. (paying taxes is a defense strategy here because it shows that you could be a contributing member of the society). Everything else is important too-they do look at the whole picture. But if finances are not commingled-you better write some explanation letter. But if you don't have a child together-explanations are not needed :)

The weakest evidence, I was told, is affidevits.

PS: personally, I think that child birth cert is enough. But go figure...
