I've emailed the consulate to see whether my case has reached them or not.... if i found out that only I-13O has reached the consulate then im automatically going to be persuing CR-1 right?

I believe since your I130 reached the Consulate then you go for the CR-1 ... I had applied for both I 130 & I 129f for my hubby and the I 130 never made it to the Consulate so that is why we had to do K3... which means we adjust status when he came... CR1 would get him here with his greencard but then it does take a bit longer... but its cheaper and better way to go in my opinion... I didnt have much of a choice on our end and hubby had to get here ASAP. -Tam

You need to read the NVC flow chart as I suggested in this post.

The best way to track the progress after your case is complete at NVC is to call Dept. of State visa information line.

The Consulate hasn't received your case because it is still at NVC. Please read the guide as suggested and follow through with NVC. It will take 3 months or more to get through NVC.

Thank you all for ur reply....

Thank you for ur patience pushbrk....the flowchart is very clear and i get it now... but my last confusing question is .. the I-13O form is different than the CR-1 form.... the steps i took to submit the I-13O r different as well..... can i still continue the rest of the process as CR-1 normally without having to redo any forms?

There is no CR-1 form. If you submitted an I-130, and it goes through NVC to the Consulate, the eventual visa granted as a result would be CR1 or IR1 as appropriate. IR1 is issued when the marriage has lasted two years already at interview. Otherwise, it's CR1.

Why do you mention a "CR1 form"? What form are you thinking of?
