Hi everyone,

I was involved with someone in 2006-2007. We filed for a K-1, but things were not working out and I never attended the medical or the interview. I received an official statement from the US Embassy in Manila stating that the petition was withdrawn by the petitioner. We have filed for a K-1 visa and wanted to know if this will affect our visa process or is there something that we must do. Thanks in advance for any help.

Just be prepared to answer questions that will be asked at the interview, and have documentation / evidence to back it up.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I have seen some instances where if the other K1 was not too far in the past, they want the petitioner (USC) to attend the interview. My wife's friend got her visa yesterday after being told to bring her current fiance to the consulate - he flew in and they had the interview together (her second interview - 4 weeks apart) - the other K1 was about a year ago. This was in Bogota, Colombia. Good Luck
