Thanks to this site I have been able to get my fiancee' a visa......ALMOST!!! Her interview is in 10 days!!!

I hope this isn't a problem but I took 18 months away from work to travel around the world when I met my fiancee. I am working now and sent in my

I-134 along with my for 2003, 2004 and 2005 tax returns. I was self employed during those years and my accountant put me on the backburner for my 2006 returns since I was out of the country and not working. The extensions were filed and taxes paid but he still hasn't finished the return for 2006 or 2007. Do you think there will be a delay on the visa since I cannot produce last year's tax returns???

I have at least 5x savings for income requirements and in addition own my house and cars and have no debt.

Still I am so nervous about this proces. Please keep Sai and I in your prayers.

Thanks

Heiko

Take a copy of the extensions filed for 2006 and 2007 - these should show how much taxes were estimated and paid. This should be enough, but who knows how strict the consulate people want to be. By the way - are you sure you have a valid extension for 2006 taxes - it seems too late to me but I do not know what rules apply when you are out of the country. Good Luck

I didnt have my 07 taxes ready at the time I gave my fiance the documents. What my tax preparer did was fill out the forms as if they were submitted to the irs but were not actually filed. It had all the info and his company stamp and all. Im sure your tax guy can prepare the forms for you as if they were submitted to the irs. I did it with no problem and my fiance got her visa.
