I have received the NOA2 (Biometrics) after 3.5 weeks but have NOT received NOA1 (GC extension). I need that since I'm going to be traveling soon. Per my earlier post, I guess going in for I-551 is the right answer.

Question - I only have the receipt number from NOA2. Will that suffice or do I need to have receipt number from NOA1?

Question - I'm one of the cases where I applied I-751 after my GC expired so the I-551 also helps provide my employer latest status. Will that be an issue with I-551?

From everything I can read - the fact that my application is being processed, land I have NOA2, life is good, so there should be an issue. Please advise.

PS: Let this post also be hope for those that like all things human in life ... forgot about the 2 yr conditional GC deadline to apply and applied AFTER GC has exprired. Thank god within 3 weeks! Obviously application was rock solid ... and the intent of 751 is to judge 'validity of marriage' not memory. Touch wood. Hopefully all continues to go well. Now just need I-551 to show firm valid status. Technically, I can present NOA2 and say 'application is being processed' which it is but prefer I-551 in hand (in liu of NOA1 which hasn't come yet).

You shouldn't have any problem getting the stamp. Bring your biometrics appointment letter with you - not just the number, your passport, and your expired greencard. You can make an infopass appointment on line at www.uscis.gov

Good luck.

We have the same case----when I had my biometrics I told the officer that I didn't receive NOA1 and then he put stamped on my passport I-551...but silly me, I forget to ask if I can travel using I-551.
