Hi all, I just called USCIS and asked if it was possible to transfer service centers and the woman I spoke to said it was but you first have to write a letter requesting that the service center you would like accpet your application. I am thinking about requesting a transfer from VSC to CSC. The question I have is what will happen if they deny my request? Will it effect my place in line at VSC? Has anyone attempted this before and the outcome? And lastly would someone be kind enough to give me the address for CSC?

I appreciate your help. Thanx in advance!

I would not do that. I have my packet at the CSC and I wish it was at the VSC because the VSC is processing much faster for some reason. It looks like they are 2 or 3 months ahead of CSC.

Just my thoughts.

You've applied for K1 which is totally different to the K3 as it's a spousal visa and for some it will mean they're together quicker .... even though it's the exact same application.

VSC are not processing the K3 whatsoever and a lot of people require the K3 .... CSC however is processing it.

We're all waiting for the K1 to not be such a priority at VSC so they can start work on our petitions .... then we can be with our Husbands and Wives and children, instead of waiting a year or so .... yes, your K1's are being prioritised ahead of our applications ... on a major scale.

I haven't heard of anyone doing that and frankly I wouldn't do that myself (because i'd fear delays). You filed your applications in March (like me), I am just going to wait it out at Vermont.

Haven't people's applications in here been transferred between service centers (although not voluntary)? Has it affected your NOA1 date at the last Center you ended up with? That would be important if they really handle the cases by NOA1 date.

I really appreciate everyones comments. Those are good questions catt! The same exact questions I am wondering about as well. I dont want it to effect my petition adversly but at the same time I believe with prayer I should try it and see what happens. Also Vermont does not seem to be approving K-3s. I will just pray that either way it will work out. If I send it and they dont take it then it will go back to vermont and still be approved in a timely manner and if they do take it then that is what God thought was best. I know that seems like an ancient way of thinking in this day and time but I truly believe that God is the only one that will make it work out either way. And at any time it is approved since I put my faith in him then it was approved when he knew it was the right time. But as far as I am thinking now I am going to give it a try. Now all I need is that address?

I know that you are wanting K3, and admittedly I have no idea what the difference in timeframe is for a K3 interview as opposed to a CR1/IR1 interview in Nigeria ... but if it helps, the NVC section has been sped up considerably since they started accepting payments online. According to those who are going through it currently, if you're up with your paperwork you can be through NVC in about 1.5 months.

CR1/IR1 is also cheaper as there is no £1000 AOD attached to it and the alien can work without a work permit document being applied for.

Your NOA1 date is only a month after mine, so as soon as we see more February NOA1 approvals coming out of Vermont you'll know that you won't be far behind. There have already been February NOA1 approvals starting this week, we're hoping for more in the next 4 weeks.

I know this process is hard on us all, and the frustration of not being with our loved ones seems impossible at times ... but if you do decide to stick with Vermont and let the process run its course, we will all help you get your paperwork in order for the next 2 stages therefore enabling you to take advantage of the new faster system.

Cat is right in the fact you may possibly face even more delays with transferring, and even CSC was at a standstill a couple of weeks back .... the wheels of Vermont are definately turning, albeit slowly right now, but the K1's are gradually being slowed down and our approvals will soon speed up.

If the K3 is going to make a huge difference in time then I wish you luck with your move, if not, then I would suggest you try and stick it out with us at Vermont because in the end, we will all get there.

Hugs for you (F)

I agree with Sarah.Time difference between K3 and CR1 is not that big now.

Since they are slowing down with K1 they might soon start approving K3 in floods.Remember, many people here had touches on I-129F at about the same time last month.Maybe it's a start. The reason why they are not approving any K3s at the moment might be because the are not putting the two applications together any more.So the I-130 is approved first and I-129F is invalidated. Then again if that was the case they should be moving on to more recent K3 applications. That's just an assumption. But it still doesn't explain why K1s are so fast.Who would know!

I thought about that too Jelena. It gives me a tiny bit of hope. Why touch a bunch of I-129F pet.'s for K-3 a few days in a row if you're just gonna toss them out the window anyways. Seems like a waste of time, but maybe we shouldn't overthink this

Have a good rest of the weekend.

Hey,

If you're still thinking of transferring your case to CSC, check out the VJ timelines today. For the first time since I joined this forum, the processing date for I-129F petitions for K-3 visa is more recent than the processing date for I-130 petitions.

We still have to see actual folks telling us they got their I-129F for K-3 visa approved, but maybe Vermont is catching up after all.

Just thought I'd mention it. Happy Sunday everyone.

Thank you all for your comments. After checking in today and reading your thoughts I have changed my mind and decided to stick it through at Verhuant. Like thay say were all in this together and like Kipand sarahjayne said we will all get there eventually. Actually my biggest fear is going into AP with the CR1 at the Naija Baffoonbessy. But maybe with faith and prayer that wont happen and if it is switched to a CR1 then I guess that will have been the way God thought was best. But it may not happen becuase like some of the rest of you my I130 has yet to be touched but my I129 was touched april 17. So who knows they may start churning them out again.
