Question on the DS-230 and the interveiw

I've been trying to keep up with what I'm going to have to do and when. James's Shortcut helped alot, however, I'm still really confused.

The DS-230, Ive sent my husband the info he need, the form, and the list of evidences that he will have to submit. I think I have my answer to this, but just wanna double check, if he doesn't have a court or prison record, does he still need to get an official form from somewhere saying he is "clean"?

For the military record, I am extrememly confused, he is in a foreign military and still active. Using the link in James's Shortcut, I looked to see if Jordan was a country that had military records availible, and it turns out they don't. (says under the military records: unavailible) but... what does that mean? Does that mean that Jordan won't release these records, so it is not required? or does it mean something else? I'm so confused.

And then, there is also my confusion on what to do with the DS-230 once I have gathered all this information. Some times I'm left with the impression that I have to (or he has to) mail it in, and then we will be contacted to set up an interveiw, and the interveiwer will have all the documents we sent. HOWEVER, sometimes I'm left with the impression that we hold on the the form, and the evidence and have it ready when we GO to the interveiw. Which is it? or am I totally off? *pulls out hair* I dont want to make a mistake. I was going to have him put it all together and send it to me so I could add my own documents to it (do I need to, or is it just the benificiaries documents that are required?) I know it says not to sign part two, but... when.. who.... what... uh! *sheepish* I'm so confused. Please please PLEASE help me understand what I'm going to have to do. Thank you.

Q1, if u dont have a prison record u dont need to get any official form. the only official form he will be needed is the police certificate from everywhere he has lived since age of 16yrs more than six month,

Q2 no idea

Q3, all the docs required in ds230 are related to the beneficiary your part is I -864, he can mail it through courier service or send them to you to mail, if your embassy is appointment post u have to send those docs to NVC and you will get the original back on your interview day. dont sign part two that will be signed in front of consular officer on your interview day

First check if your husband's local Embassy is what NVC calls "Appointment Post".

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3734.html

If it is, please see the documents that have to be submited with the DS 230.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3176.html

Those documents are related to the beneficiary (the foreign spouse) in your case should be your husband, he must sign part I and leave part II to be signed at his interview, anyway he should send both parts I and II to NVC. The certified copies must be from originals issued by the issuing authority, tell him to not go to a public notary to get a certified copy, NVC does not accept them and neither will his local Consulate. In theory the originals should be returned to the beneficiary at the interview, but it happens for some people and it doesen't for others, anyway I wouldn't count on getting the originals back. I would get 2 certified copies of the originals and would send 1 to NVC and keep the second one for the interview. Send 1 original plus a photocopy of each requested document to NVC.

Good Luck!
