i just had my ead and aos biometrics done last week ...my question is how long after can i start calling the fbi number to check on the status of the biometrics?

my case is at the national benefits center how long does it take after the biometrics for the EAD AND AOS for someone to receive an approval(or at least for case status to be updated)?

WHAT IS REALLY THE PURPOSE OF THE BIOMETRICS FOR THE EAD??IS IT A NAME CHECK OR A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK?WHATS THE DIFFERENCE IF ANY??

thank you in advance for any information

After I took my biometrics, I had my EAD and AP in hand within 2 weeks. I'm guessing all of it is for a background check, along with what will be on your card. My EAD card has my pic, fingerprint and signature on it.

I didn't know you could call FBI number to check on the status of biometrics. Could you please provide more info on what this process is and what number one should call?

Wow that's fast..lucky you! My husband had his bio done on 4/10 and we still haven't heard anything. Many who filed in March with similar timelines to ours are still waiting as well, but a few who filed in early March have started getting theirs (we filed in mid-March), so give it a little more time before you start to worry. Many of us have now passed the 3 week mark waiting, so they seem to be getting backlogged again :(

K-1 Timeline:

May 31, 2007 - Mailed I-129F to Nebraska

Oct. 22, 2007 - NOA2 Hard Copy received!! No email/website update.

Nov. 16, 2007 - Paperwork found & received by NVC!

Jan. 7, 2008 - Finally got the interview date

Jan. 28, 2008 - Interview!! Approved!!!

Feb. 12, 2008 - Arrives in USA!!!

Feb. 18, 2008 - Wedding Day!!!!!!

Feb. 19, 2008 - Apply for SSN

AOS Timeline:

Mar. 12, 2008 - Packet mailed (AOS, EAD, & AP)

Mar. 12, 2008 - Husband's SSN arrives

Mar. 14, 2008 - AOS pkt was delivered at 7:52 AM & signed for by V BUSTAMANTE.

Mar. 18, 2008 - Check cashed!!

May 14, 2008 - Email: EAD approved!!

May 16, 2008 - EAD card & AP in hand!!

Sept 19, 2008 - Interview letter - Oct. 24th - Seattle??

Oct. 21, 2008 - A Touch..WOW!! The interviewer must've put it on his/her desk!

I know how you feel. I have seen in the March timelines that a few have already recieved notices on their interviews. It can be frustrating wondering why others who filed later than us are getting things moving a lot faster for them. I figured if I stopped worry about it all, maybe something will come in the mail soon.

Yes indeed, we are in the same boat here...Did our biometric in Mid-March, and yet to hear anything...

We were touched on the day after the biometric, but nothing since then...

Just a bit worried right now, but I guess we should wait for three months first...

We are in California BTW...
