We are looking for anyone thats in the same boat as us. I'm from Canada and my husband lives in the US. We got married in September (2007), applied for our K-3 visa at VSC by sending in our I-130 in October. They apparently didnt "receive" it till January and once we got confirmation of that, we sent off our I-129f. We had touches for both files on Feb 24th and we havnt had any touches/movement since then!

We are getting really distraught and are wondering if theres anyone else out there in a similar situation? I hear about all these people getting touches and approvals and it makes me so stressed that we havnt had any movement since Februay! I know our turn will come and I need to be patient but just looking for some support. Thanks..

Don't get caught up in the "touches." We didn't have any touches after waiting over 6 months, then all of a sudden both I-129 and I-130 were approved the same day. In fact, if I go to the USCIS website and type in my case number, it still says recieved and pending, even though my paperwork is in Montreal already.

Don't get discouraged...sometimes it's good to take a break from VJ every once in a while because it can get really depressing to see everyone else waiting, and people getting approved, etc. Even though we're all happy for everyone who moves along, it's a reminder that we're still waiting, which can get tough. But every day is one day closer to getting that magic visa :)

It sure seems like things fly once you get the NOA2, so just hang in there!

We are in a very similar situation, only we sent our I130 in November and I129 in late Jan after a long wait for a NOA1...the rest of the story is identical, except we filed CSC. It is very hard to stay patient when we see tons of folks who filed long after we did getting approvals. I am very happy for those getting their approvals, but it is very hard to understand.....and VERY hard to stay patient.

so, if it helps at all....you're not alone...

stay strong

there are many of us! You are not alone. It just is confusing and stressing to find out that some people approved who applied much later. We just cannot understand why! You can not ask them because the processing time is still July 30. It looks it is a kind of a lottery.

We are in the same situation as well. We got married in Sept, filed in Oct. recieved our NOA1 (recipet that they recieved our information) in January and we are still waiting to hear something. Its been over six months. Do not get discouraged, we are in the same situation. We are however at the California center. I just called them up and they told me they were "swamped" and behind schedule and that I should just be patient. So I encourage everyone else to be patient I guess? lol or call and complain.

I need to stop looking. I was soooo cool with the delay and waiting for 6 months but now I'm really getting anxious. Knowing there's a 6 month wait for appointments for interviews in Montreal doesn't make me feel any better, either.

I'll tell ya, my next husband's going to be a USC 'cause I'd never go through this again. :P

Thanks for all the replies! It really makes me feeling a whole lot better that we are not the only ones that are still waiting and have not really heard anything. I'm really trying to be patient, its just hard. I havnt been down to NJ (which is where my husband lives) since last May so its been a year now! We originally applied for the fiance visa once we got engaged because our lawyer told us we'd have it in time for our September wedding but then when it didnt come, we had to cancel it and start the whole process all over again with the K-3... urg...

Is there really a 6 month wait for an interview in Montreal? That seems so long! Is there a website where you can check the wait time for montreals interviews? Do you get to pick your date or do they give you one? we are going to Australia in September and I would hate to have them book our interview then!

Newlyweds07...

It would appear from Liz's spreadsheet that over the last four or five months the actual wait for a K visa interview in Montreal has been a little less than 3 months from the time Packet 3 was sent back.

You don't get to pick your times, but I've emailed Montreal with questions and they've been very good about getting back to me, so it never hurts to ask. I would think that if you wanted to get an interview date at a specific time, you'd be able to ask for it when you send your Packet 3 back, but I'd bet it wouldn't get you in any sooner. I am actually thinking about asking for a certain period of August, even though I think our interview will actually be in June or July.
