Is it legal?

They have posts up on 'facebook' stating their marriage ect, have got a vicar ect (basically the usual things u get when u PLAN a marriage)

They told me that they have lawyers ect who told them to do it this way. The lawyer wouldnt say that if he had an suspicion that it wouldnt work would he?

Im so annoyed. My Fiancee (USC) asked if we could just go to the court house and get married (because when I went over there, even tho we were in a relationship, we werent engaged) and i said No because i wanted the wedding and wanted to do it the right way. Im kicking myself now because it seems like the couple im talking about might get away with it and im still waiting for my NOA1 !! Arghh i shouldvr listened to him- i just keep teling myself that itll be worth it in the end and ,when im finally over there, i can look back on it and be happy that im there becaise we did it the legal way. We would also know how stong our relationship is..because it has to be to go trough this. Sometimes i wonder if its US immigrations way of picking out the serious from the not so serious cuz if youre not made for eachother you would soon drop out!

I'm sorry, but immigration lawyers aren't the most honest or knowledgeable people in the biz. We went through two who were utterly useless and gave us incorrect information.

It's always better to do it the legal way, even if people you know are being sneaky and getting away with it. We've all had to go through this, and you know what, we all survived. It's a test of a good relationship, and although the waiting is difficult, it doesn't last that long.

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Vietnam
Timeline

I have said, as a joke that I should have just bought Xuan a plane ticket to Canada and drove up to get her. Then just drive acorss the border somewhere like everyone esle does. I just can not bring myself to take the risk that one day there will be a knock at the door and someone will "TRY" to take her away from me. I say "TRY" as I am certian I would not let that happen while I was still alive. It is just not worth that. Even though it seems like FOREVER while we are going through it I do understand it will only be a few months or even a year. What is that when we have another 30 or so years to be together free from that worry? I am sure those people will get away with it for now. But one day there will be a knock. It has happened to people in the past and it will only become more frequent in the future.
