Question! getting ready for interview!

Hey everyone Mariya has all her forms togther now! Thanks for everyones help so far through this whole process We had one last question? She had her original birth certificate translated and notarized! When all the forms were sent to her we forgot to send the translated birth certificate! She has her original birth certificate in RUSSIAN! She has a photo copy of it translated into english! Since she has the photo copy in english should she try to get it translated again because it is not the original with the notarized stamps on it? Or is the photo copy of the translation that was notarized ok?

yeah but russia is about to have a big holiday and in Ufa the translation agencies will not work and she has to get on a train soon for her interview in MOSCOW!

The holiday was today and there's another on the ninth. Also a lot of agencies will be open on Saturday to make up for today's holiday.

Hi! You said Mariya has her original BC in Russian...she just needs its translation into English (not notarized and certified translation!). In case it was in ...say...Ukranian, she should go the other way.

So, let her translate it herself (again/one more time) and comment on it that she is fluent in both English and Russian (put date and signature).

By the way, they can read Russian in Russia. No need for translations when taking docs to the embassy.

While I agree they most certainly can read Russian at the Embassy, their web site states, "Original birth certificate, photocopy and translation into English." Check Item #5 on their list of required documents to bring to the interview.

By all means, follow the rules on the website. If they want this or that translated, get it translated. Just don't feel the need to make sure EVERYTHING is translated just because she's going to the U.S. embassy. Only get a translation of what is required.
