I was just reading this month's Costco magazine that comes with my membership and on the very last page they give a feature article to a new book that's out

The book is called "How to Fit a Car Seat on a Camel and other misadventures traveling with kids" by Sarah Franklin

It looks really funny and I know that a lot of us are seperated from our spouse and have small children that we take back and forth or maybe spouse is here/ coming and the future means traveling back to MENA countries with children in tow... It looks like a really funny read and I just wanted to give a heads up :)

Have any of you already read it? :reading:

I found the review on Amazon :

Product Description

Have you ever struggled to dislodge a nostril-bound Cheerio while navigating the interstate at 70 miles an hour? Discovered exactly how many renditions of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” it takes for you to pull the car to the side of the road and weep? Or experienced just what happens when your miniature traveling companion pulls the “manual override” lever on the emergency exit door of a plane? You’re not alone. We all have memories of a hideous yet hilarious family trip.

Now you can read about some that make your trip look like a vacation with the Waltons.

Edited by Sarah Franklin, How to Fit a Car Seat on a Camel is an anthology of outrageous stories about the inherent misadventures that revolve around traveling with kids. Whether the trip is with newborn triplets or with moody teens, a road trip to the beach or a European vacation, each story will resonate with parents who hit the road or the tarmac with kids in tow.

I have not heard of that but it reminds me of when I got on a camel. My SIL's crack up everytime my husband reminds them of the story of how I screamed bloody murder until they finally got me off of that thing!

I have a girlfriend who is Spanish and a few years ago she took her then almost 2 year old daughter to Spain. On the return flight Maria drifted off for a few minutes and woke up to find her toddler shoving peanuts up her nose. FAR up her nose. Maria and the flight attendants and various other passengers all tried to dislodge and remove the nuts but no luck, so when they got to New York they had to get to an emergency room to have a doctor use scary hooks and tools to get the peanuts out. I laughed my A** off when she returned ( a day late from missing her connection in NY). note to self: do not sleep when child has small foods in hand :))

I just saw your picture and your little girl is soooooo gorgeous, mashallah! What an :innocent:

Traveling with my family was always good for a laugh - My mother said we were like the Griswold's.. I'd say the most memorable year would be the year that my 5 year old brother was learning to read and we were in a very large hotel in Virgina and walking down the hall he reads... P U L L .... ppuh pppuhpppuuhh.. puLL!!! YANK! Down goes the fire alarm and the entire hotel had to be emptied out - I'm talking hundreds of people into the parking lot at around 10:30pm - My poor mother hehe

And having two siblings that were younger than me- Elevators became a riot! For some reason they really did feel the need to push every single button in there - Even places that had 20 floors - As they aged, they found it even more hilarious to push them all jump out, let the door close with my mother and I inside, and they would take the elevator next to it or the stairs - so there we went stopping on every floor
