change of address while cases are pending?

My husband just accepted a new job in another state... so I just want to know what are the things to do (regarding our cases: I-485, I-765 & I-131)

Moving while an I-485 is pending is dangerous.

You need to contact USCIS and get address changed, and then call them a few days later and confirm address change.

Also I would do an info pass appointment to the field office that may be preparing to interview you, and get this changed and change confirmed in writing.

I have read several times of persons moving, and the field office where they were living not sending case to new field office, the old office schedules an interview, the couple dont get the notice, miss the interview, and then find themselves dealing with deportation proceedings because they were NO-Show for the interview.

Good thing to do anytime you move after getting green-card, as well as do I-865 for the sponsor.

When we moved from California to Washington, the paralegal we were working with told us to keep our case in San Diego and just commute to appts b/c our case could be lost.

My husband flew down for his EAD biometrics appt. It was a pain and expensive. After that, we went to an infopass at the Seattle office and I decided to move our case. The office was much easier to work with. We gave the officer our new address and he updated it in their system. He then told us to go on-line and then call the 800 number to do the update. After updating the address on-line I called in and they told me that I didn't need to call in and acted like I was bothering them. Ignore that--I'd call to confirm the address change.
