edp333, how did it go??? Waiting for the review!

The short version:

The immigration officer stated we sounded like a nice couple and said Meryll was approved.

The long version for ella:

We found parking a block south and 1.5 blocks west of the USCIS office. We arrived 35 minutes early and waited over an hour for Meryll’s name to be called. The officer apologized for calling us late and was very nice. The officer swore us in and asked me, the sponsor, the first questions.

How did we meet?

When and where was our marriage?

If we were married for over two years? Then explained the conditional green card process.

If I met her parent’s and what was their names?

If Meryll has met my parents and siblings? To which Meryll supplied pictures.

When Meryll arrived in US?

About my income.

When was Meryll’s birth date?

Then Meryll was asked the questions off the list, plus my birth date, how we met, if she had met my parents, etc.

The officer took her EAD and I-94 and threw them in the waste basket and said the card should arrive in 30 days.

Congratulations! You're the first couple I've been with from the beginning of the AOS to the end. It's great to see that it's over for you! Thanks for the interview wrap up, it really helps and it's great to hear.

Congrats Ed. Now you two can take it easy until removing conditions. Layla and I are still waiting for some movement on our AOS. Been really busy and away from VJ posting for some time (I think our firm will be bought by a commercial bank before this is over).

Thanks Urge, we hope for a smooth process for you and Layla. I hope all works out well for you at work. I experienced two buyouts at one company.

It was nice to have a smooth process for once. Maybe the AOS happened so soon becuse we were in no hurry for it. Life has been busy for us too.

Congratulations!!! :D Thank you for sharing the details! Did your wife get an approval stamp?

There was no approval stamp on the passport/visa. The officer told us that Meryll should not have any problems with immigration while waiting for the greencard. I have noticed a lot of VJers not receiving the stamp lately.

Thanks for the congrats Sha and scott, KC*MP, ella, and Heliosphan

Yep, many K1 AOS petitions have been approved without interview, and plenty of K1 and K3 AOS filers received interview letters. But there are those of us still waiting to hear something post EAD.

On a wim as I do once a week or less I checked in at the USCIS site and found:

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On October 7, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

So I am guessing this means AOS approved?

Sounds like it - Congrats!! And to everyone else who has have gotten the AOS as well! I love to here that they aren't sleeping!

No real news on our front. We went in for the 2nd (unexplained) biometrics. When we called customer service and explained that we'd already done it and received the EAD, they said that so long as an appointment was made we had to go or our case would be considered abandoned. It really didn't seem like it was worth even trying to figure out if it was just a clerical error, so we went. Another 2.5 hours with driving, but we've been so busy lately that it was actually nice to just sit in a car for that long in the middle of the day when we were both wide awake with no friends, family, or work, and just talk!

Good luck with the inquiry Beng.
