Hello VJers:

Turning to you all for some advice again:

I was on H1B when I flied for AOS through my USC spouse. Since my AOS-related EAD was approved for 12 months, I have now found another job and am starting at my new place in 2 weeks.

Ques 1: Am I required to tell USCIS about the change in jobs/positions/salary even though we used my husband's income on I-864 as a spondor since he makes more that I do and we have no other dependets/obligations.

When we go for the interview, can they ask why I didn't tell them that I changed jobs etc?

Ques2: Since this EAD is valid for 12 mo., it is safe to assume that the AOS interview would happen in the interim time period. In case that we are not called for the intervew within 12 mo, does USCIS reissue EAD cards? Just curious...

Please let me know if you have any insights to offer.

Thanks

And, CONGRATULATIONS to all those who're moving along in the AOS process. IT is encouraging for the rest of us,

5/22/08: Sent AOS to Chicago Lockbox

5/28/08: USCIS acknowledged reciept of AOS.

6/21/08: Biometrics in MN

6/23 Touch on all

8/5/08: AP Approval

8/8/08 EAD approved

8/18/08: Touch on I-485, but nothing in the mail

My case is at the NBC/MSC

The EAD can be renewed by filing a I765 if AOS is not completed by then.

fellow May filers, we sent our reply to the rfe this morning. i hope everything will go well. we provided them a new joint-sponsor since our previous joint-sponsor doesn't qualify the poverty guidelines. we attached the following documents:

1. form i-864

2. copy of tax forms, w2s and 1099s

3. employment certificate

4. copy of pay stubs for the past 8 months

5. copy of her passport's biographic page

i hope these are enough already to further process our application. pls pray for us.

please for the rest of the may filers who are having big trouble with this AOS process especially B-R & A and J_Girl who haven't received any biometrics appointment yet since filing last May.

thanks a lot!

God bless us all! God is good all the time!

hi fellow may filers. Well, here are some updates about my case. We received the rfe letter wednesday last week and they're telling me that my joint-sponsor doesn't meet the poverty guidelines requirements though we also provided them her assets to add to her income. They are asking for some proof of appraisal value of her properties. In order to avoid more complications, we opted to get another co-sponsor. We got my husband's aunt as our second joint-sponsor and we are so blessed that she is cooperative to us and most importantly, her income is good enough to support me. With that, we are planning to submit our response to the rfe tomorrow. We're just waiting for her employment letter.

B-R & A, i know how you feel. Just hang in there. Call the uscis everyday and follow up for your service request.

By the way, congratulations to the recent approvals!

God bless us all! God is good all the time!

Sorry that you guys are going through this, im sure after submiting everything tomorrow your case will go fast.

i really pray for that... thanks a lot!!!

Hi All,

We received the AOS interview appt letter this weekend - appt is in less than a month.

Question - I've been laid off recently. I am taking this opportunity for additional education and will not rush into another job. This year I've already made 2-3x the 125% poverty level. Do you think the fact I do not have a current job affect the AOS process?

Thanks for any advice!
