Stressed!!!

I applied for my AOS which was recived in Chicago on May 25 2008. It is STILL pending. It seems everyone else's has gone through quickly and now I'm worried something went wrong! :(

We filled it all out correctly and have been married over a year (I came on a K1). Am I worrying for no reason??

You're not alone - our AOS has not been touched since our biometrics appointment in June...I'm hoping there will be some word of a transfer or interview or something soon...

I haven't even had my biometricts done yet. This Monday it will be 3 months of hearing nothing, I haven't worked since I moved here in May 07 and I'm getting really bored at home! argh!

Hi there, I went to the uscis website today and looked into an appointment on INFOPASS and when it got to the calendar of dates for August and September, ALL of them were blocked. It would not let me select a date. When I tried hitting CONTINUE, it said please select a date, but it was impossible to select any date since they seemed to all be blocked. Has anyone else experienced this? What am I doing wrong? Or are all those dates just unavailable?

Thanks!

Jennifer :)

Wow J Girl, your case is kidda tough. Have you tried the info pass or try to call the USCIS? May i ask why it took you so long to aply for the AOS?

I'll call the USCIS later this week to try and chase it up. I have found everything has taken a long time when dealing with immigration.

I applied for the K1 while I lived in Australia, that took almost 10 months to be approved, when the K1 Visa did get approved instead of sending it to me they sent me some random strangers US passport! Talk about a HUGE mistake! Of course I called them right away to let them know and sent it back, they still had my passport sitting at the office.

After we got married in the US it took about 6 months for my i-130 to go through then we waited about 4 months to file the AOS because we were in the middle of building a house and moving etc, and the money was needed for other things (the whole living on one income isn't much help). So here I am almost 3 months later still waiting.

When I applied for the i-130 I made the mistake of not filing my EAD with it, I filed it separately by mistake (a day later) and they took the money and denied the EAD because I did't file it jointly, looking up that I had sent it in was too hard I guess!

Ok finished ranting! hah. :)

I am a little confused, why did you file the I-130 as a K1 holder? All you needed to do was just file you AOS or am i missing something?

Well I'll admit I didn't do much research into what I needed to file, and I took the advice of this person who I shouldn't have because now it has dragged out. The odd thing is immigration still accpeted it and processed it...you'd assume they send a letter back telling us we filed the wrong form? :bonk:

Oh well.
