We mailed Meryll's AOS package today. I assume we may be early June NOA filers with Friday being an unofficial holiday and Monday is Memorial Day.

oh gosh!! two holidays for the last days of May? hmmm.. i hope we still can make it for May filers...

let's be positive!!! go go go!!!

By unofficial holiday, I mean many workers take a vacation day on Friday, leave work early, or are dreaming of the plans for the three day weekend instead on concentrating on work.

We mailed ours on May 12. The check just cleared the bank overnight (21st), haven't received NOAs for our case yet (maybe today??). The endorsements and stamps on the back were MSCxxxxxxxxxx, so am kinda curious about that (Missouri Service Center???). When I did a case number search on CRIS, it stated that the record was not found...maybe NOA hasn't been issued yet. I hope our biometrics appt. isn't in Charlotte. They are supposedly opening a new one in Raleigh as of April...hoping they actually did, but we'll see, I guess. The waiting begins......

D&J

Hmm I got MSC too, is that bad?

MSC is consistant with all petitions/applications sent to Chicago. According to USCIS Chicago is a field office.

I saw that some folks were waiting on an Employment letter. Is that really all that necessary at this point? J hasn't been employed, so I don't see any reason why she would need something like that at this stage of the game. After EAD and possibly for renewal of EAD if AOS isn't approved before the EAD expires. But why all the fuss over an employer letter? I used an old duplicate from my employer from the K1 interview papers for J as "extra proof" of my income for the I-864.

Anyhoo...I hope this all goes by quickly. I would assume from reading a post or two above this that the CRIS site is useless for AOS and related applications. Any word on whether or not the gooberment has opened the Raleigh office yet?

Well, we got our NOA's today for the AOS, EAD, and AP. The receipt number is completely different than the number on the check...well, the I-485 receipt is one number higher at the end than the number on the back of our check. The I-765 is 4 numbers higher than the number on the back of our check, and the I-131 is 5 numbers higher. Each of those case numbers DOES show up in the CRIS web site, but at this early stage, the information there is useless. I did an Infopass query on uscis.gov today and found that the local service center for us folks in Eastern North Carolina is now Raleigh, specifically Durham, about a mile and some change off I-40. So they've finally opened that new service center!!!!!!!!!! So thank God, we won't have to take a day trip (6 hours one way, I think) to/from Charlotte at $4+/gallon.

Congrats dj1206. I ran into the same issue a year ago during the K3 process with the check number not matching the receipt number.

Amy, you might be June. If you didn't send it Express Mail, definitely not May. USCIS received our case on the 13th according to NOA we got, but our NOA notice is dated the 19th. 6 days between...but anyhoo, we're all in the same boat...late May/early June, same pot really.

Another bit of good news, J also received her biometrics letter today, confirmed to be in Raleigh (Durham) on June 16. I don't even think VJ has a dropdown for this new local service center yet in the timelines/reviews sections...Ewok, are you out there? J is a little bit curious about what is done at the Biometrics...all I can tell her is that they will likely take fingerprints and photos. She shouldn't need anything except the NOA notices for EAD and AOS and her passport/SSN/State ID. Her state ID is expired now since her original 90-day EAD is kaput, so dunno if they'll accept that. I imagine we can bring the marriage license if there is a question about her name change. Has anyone been to the new Durham service center? What should we expect there? Thx.
