Today CRIS just sent me another e-mail for EAD card production ordered. I already got one on 24th Jul and another one for today...I think I have too many EAD now. They really want me to work here. Thanks!! hahaha

Congrats!! Ive noticed that the 2nd time they send you the EAD notice in your email, is when USCIS officially sends out the card. For this date, count 2 to 3 business days and you should get your EAD Card.

I got the following from USCIS:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On July 29, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

Could someone please explain what ADIT is about?

Thanks

hi,

ADIT - Alien Documentation, Identification & Telecommunications System

ADIT refers to biometrics. What the approval notice is stating is that you will get your GC within 60 days or when you complete any ADIT processing that still needs to occur.

Some people are getting their GC approved without an up to date ADIT file. So the application is approved and an ADIT request is made. Once you complete it, they send you the card.

Hope it helps.

Hello everyone! Some good news for us - we received a biometrics appointment letter last Saturday - I think what triggered it was that I called 2 weeks ago and made them do an inquiry for our case.. So hopefully things will finally start moving after August 12th

Wow! Thats's a good news, ritas! I'm happy for you. By the way, does your biometrics letter show the case numbers for your AOS, EAD and AP? Coz the one I had only covered for my AOS so I need to wait still for my biometrics for EAD WHICH i certainly need ASAP. hayayayay.. But still, I'm happy that everything is moving for us and the rest of the May filers. I hope that BR&A will have her appointment soon. Hay. God bless us always.

It was for AOS, and I do believe you are only supposed to get just one appointment letter. Do you know anyone who actually received 2 separate letters?

Does your biometrics appointment letter only show your AOS case number just like mine?

Hmmm.. I've never seen anybody yet here in VJ who got two biometrics appointment - for AOS and EAD. But I know somebody who filed late last year and waited for her biometrics for two months and surprisingly received her GC two weeks after her biometrics. I don't assume this will happen to us but I'm praying for that one coz I really want to get out from this limbo...having the feeling of being out-of-status in this country and no proper identification (having no state ID). Hay.

But despite all these, let's keep up the faith and I know that everything has a reason. Everything will be alright! :)

We had two biometrics letters that came in the mail. One for AOS and one for EAD.

I think the queston is, did you have 2 biometric appointments? One for AOS and one for EAD? You may get two or three letters, but most likely its still one biometric appointment.

Wuhoo!  EAD card production ordered.

Congrats to you!!!!! :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

I only received 1 biometrics appointment for my AOS. I'm still waiting for the result of my service request which I did last July 11 for the biometrics of my EAD. Hopefully, I'll be getting it until next week. I'm so frustrated everyday on waiting for some good news in the mail from the USCIS. I even call them everyday to check if our service request has been assigned already to an officer. But until yesterday, it hasn't been assigned yet. Hayayayayay!

With all these, I'm staying positive. God has His reasons. and He is good all the time!!!

And sis Abby, we have the same case, my SSN card is on maiden name so I'm sure, I'll be on trouble too on changing it to my married name until I get my GC.

Let's keep up the faith!

God bless us all!!!

Right, I know the dates on the site are not always spot on. But, the EAD doesn't count at all, as those are approved for most of us out of NBC, not our local office. I wouldn't be surprised if they were right about the AOS though.

Thanks everyone. EAD will let my wife work while we wait. It looks like we will have a bit of a wait. NYC local office is back processing I485 from December 2007. I hope that we get the interview out of the way before the end of the year.
I don't know how reliable those processing dates are, the NYC office is going back to 2007 for EAD (May 2007) and AOS (July 2007) processing

Yeah, I figured that I would get my SSN before my expired I-94 so that at least I can work with a SSN number, open a bank account, and most importantly for me, to get my application submitted with CA Board of Nursing to take my NCLEX-RN exam, (Another 6 month process thing which Im waiting for, besides AOS).

Question: Am I correct in understanding that those case processed through the K/fiance visa are typically not interviewd as part of the AOS? It appears that many folks here have got approved without the AOS interview.

Who then qualifies for the AOS interview? I am on a work permit (h1) and am married to a USC. Should I assume that I would need to be interviewed???

Thanks

Most likely you will be interviewed. I think the logic behind the K1 transfers is that they don't have a lot of evidence since they're newly married and they already had consular interviews abroad.
