Hi all. There is some slight confusion with my fiancee's BC. Her NSO Authenticated Birth Certificate is not in great shape. The printed letters of her name are blurred. She also has the original live BC from her local civil registry that is clear. The problem is...We tried to get a new copy from the NSO and the new copies came back with the exact same blurring/bad type print. So it seems the master that they are making these copies from on security paper is bad. We have heard that it originates from ####### microFiche used to archive her BC at the NSO. So...she has a good copy of her local civil registry BC and a blurry NSO BC. I think our only option is to try to get a copy of her local civil registry BC "athenticated" by the NSO. Problem is....she lives in Cebu and the NSO there no longer athenticates BC's. She will have to go to Manila.

Has anyone experienced this problem of blurred NSO BC? Does anyone know if the blurry NSO BC will cause problems at her interview? Should we go through the trouble of trying to get a copy of her local civil registry BC "athenticated"? Thanks for any advice!!!

I also had the same problem, illegible/very hard to read BC from NSO what i did was post about it on their guestbook page: http://www.census.gov.ph/data/guestbook/index.html

after a few days or a week, I received an email from their Civil Registration Department head, Ms. Lourdes Hufana, she told me that they will request another copy of my BC from the local civil registrar coz the copy they have was blurred out by age. I have yet to find out if my NSO BC will be clearer now coz i have not gone back to NSO yet, will do so next week.

I have read here of someone who had a blurry NSO BC and who did not have problem during interview. Just bring the copy from the local civil registrar together with the blurry NSO BC. And don't worry too much coz they will verify here birth certificate with NSO anyway (doc. verification).

Good luck to you and to your fiancee. God bless you always.
