I appreciate all ur direction suggestions for ur directionally challenged friend. I have a GPS but get lost with that too. I have panic attacks when I know the turn or veer off or exit is coming up and end up so nervous that I can barely drive. I always get lost..even with help .. thats why a greyhound might be the best option for me especially since I'd have my son with me and he doesn't need to see me freaking out any more than he already has. I'm up to my eyeballs with stress and can't deal with it anymore so I'm considering my options. What to do when ur so unhappy it hurts..... :crying:

Yes I know the the feeling, girl.

Hi everyone. Wicked busy at work today. Weekend without the kiddos comin' up so planning some fun excursions in Boston. It's weird but I'm like, ok what should we do? I've never done touristy type things here. I don't think I've ever even been on the USS Constitution.

Gonna go try to catch up on threads before lunch is over but Nagi sending prayers your way for tomorrow (F)(F)

I had the same problem when Medy got here - I've lived here all my life and had no clue where to bring him. A couple places we go sometimes are the North End, Quincy Market/Fanieuil Hall, Newbury Street shopping/lunch/walking, Boston Commons and swan boat rides, Duck Tours, Downtown Crossing, dinner in the south end, walk around Beacon Hill and look at the little shops, the Aquarium, whale watches have already started they leave from the Aquarium at 10 and 2 on weekends, get some chowda or good seafood somewhere, hmmm.... Harvard Square. Copley. Blue Man Group. China Town. Has he been to a diner yet? Those are fun. Oh the Omni Theatre at the Science Museum!! That is soooo cool. You could follow the Freedom Trail, that's a good way to see some of Boston (Boston Common, Beacon Hill, Faneuil Hall, Bunker Hill, Old North Church, the house of Paul Revere, and Old Ironsides). Gardner Museum. And my husband loves Marshalls. He goes every. weekend.

Looks like I goofed that post up....too many tears in my eyes to see the correct reply button. Sheesh, I need a hot bath. Let my tears fall into the water while I lament.

Awww, Nagi, i hope you feel better. I'll show you my favorite squash at the moment.

This is what I want sooooooo much.

Thanks , Julianna! I really like those bumpy looking ones. I appreciate the diversion from all this stress....my health, his health, the house, the car, the pets, Oi !!! My head is about to explode.

I tool a hot bath, prayed, and layed down with Tatonka.....and fell asleep. What woke me up was a dream...a dream of a very long food buffet with a HUGE pan of cheesecake and garlic bread fresh off of the grill. There were mounds of real food, and oh how hungry I am !

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Just off the phone with my ex, and he just confirmed he is bringing his latest squeeze to our daughters college graduation. I don’t care personally, just wish Hesham was here, he is so level headed. So I asked him did you asked Alissa about bringing your girlfriend, and he is she is fine. BIG FREAKING LIE, she is pretty upset, I just hope it just all goes well for her. I don’t care, my ex-mother in law will be there, and she is really not happy with the new girlfriend. This all adds up to a night of real life drama, playing out at the dinner table; all the while I eat my good cut of steak. My mother and I were talking and I said that, you know the Arab card will come up, and my mother is like ignore it, I will, I am telling you I haven’t had a drink in forever, but if things go south I might as well belly up to the bar. I want to have a good time. Lol

Did I miss something? Are you ok Amal? I'm really confused.

I'm sorry for confusing u JP. U haven't missed something coz I really haven't posted what happened. I won't post it either coz all it will take is 1 or 2 ppl to make the comment that they'd hit the road and I probably would. I can't have that right now so I just vented my frustrations without disclosing any information in the hopes that if I get some of it off of my chest maybe, just maybe I'll be able to collect myself a little bit better. I'm really not ok right now coz I'm so upset that I could burst but I'm biting my tongue as much as possible since as we all know, its not ok to post extremely private information in public for everyone to know our personal lives. I also can't take the chance of acquaintences seeing this and reporting back coz that would just cause more trouble...

Thank you everyone for ur concern. I know that if worse comes to worse, I could probably come visit any of u and u'd welcome me and my son and for that I'm very much grateful.

Duck tours are REALLY fun. It looks dorky, and it is, but it's definitely fun. You can also do the Freedom Trail; get a guide to it from the library, it's a cool tour of the sites of downtown Boston (oh just noticed Holly mentioned that too). When we lived in Boston my husband *loved* to go to the mall at Prudential  Plus there's a cafe in the North End, Caffe Paradiso, that is always full of Moroccans, my husband used to hang out there a lot.
