We have used Xoom a few times and never had a problem. We use a debit/credit card for payment and always use the cash pick-up method. The fee is a bit high, but its never taken more than a few hours to become available. Lately, its been about an hour or two before its ready.

Not sure if its still good, but there was a discount code of PINOY to get a free transaction on Xoom. You can try it and see if it still works. I got it from watching the show Citizen Pinoy on TFC. Good luck!

I've used XOOM at least 50 times and maybe 2 times have had to wait more than 1 day (5 days only twice from what I can remember). Usually, the money is ready in 20-30 minutes.

If you use Paypal or your credit card as your method of payment, it will always be deducted within 30 minutes.

50 times you have sent money.

Glyn has an ATM card from an account that I opened here. There are no ATM fees involved and I am charged only the 1% foreign transaction fee. It really is the best way to go!

I have also used Remithome. It is very reliable! $10 flat fee, so it is good for send larger amounts.

Moneygram is also very good too.

Am I the only one here that uses LBC debit card? :D

$12 for every money transfer transactions. Fast as it only take minutes for the money to be transfered to the card. Convenient for the recipient as money can be taken out from any Megalink ATMs in PI. No maintaining balance & no withdrawal charges.

hi everyone,

i was trying to check if XOOM is really good with their service.. We've been using Western Union for three years and i can say that its fast however as I check the fee, it is expensive..

Now, i want to know if we will use the XOOM through Value Service - how many days should i wait to claim my money? I saw a reply from a lady wherein she had waited for 5 days because her hubby used a checking account.. is this true? please let me know so that i can tell my husband later on.

many thanks!

I have been using Xoom, and up until last month the money was in my fiancées hand in 30 minutes. the last month it took 120 days. i have changed nothing. this month they are also saying it will take a minimum of 5 days. meanwhile they have deducted the money from my account and holding onto it. they blame the Federal reserve. i am blaming them. that they are holding up all transactions and collecting interest on the money.

so beware to anyone thinking of using xoom for fast money transfers. i am done with them, so if any knows a good company please let me know

thanks

My hubby uses moneygram , so far no problem and you can wihtdraw it from BDO , and their branches are all over and at all SM malls too open til sunday ; cheaper $10.00 per transaction any amount within the US. WU is more expensive , he used to send money thru it , good thing i learned about moneygram.

I used xoom for the first time about 10 days ago. It took exactly 23.5 hours for the money to be ready for pickup. They were nice enough to call me so I appreciated that. I'm guessing it took that time frame mainly because they needed to verify my bank account. Hopefully next time i use them its faster than the 23.5 hours.
