Hello.

I m not sure whether I can apply for new SS card which wont say - valid for work only with DHS authorization? I received my Green card yesterday (conditional for 2 y). Also, my EAD is only for 1 year. Do I have to apply again next year or is GC enough for proof of employment? What is my next step? Lifting conditions in 21 months?

Thanks for your help

To the best of my knowledge, you don't need EAD as soon as you have your green card in hand.

Guys, correct me if I'm wrong..

No need for EAD as your GC is your proof of eligibility to work without needing DHS authorization.

It is recommended that you have your SS card replaced with one that does not have the "Work with DHS Authorization Only" restriction on it.

Your next step would be to relax and enjoy your immigration break until the time comes for you to apply for Removal of Conditions.

SS number will not change, however you can get the "with DHS auth" note removed by applying for a replacement at SSA.

NO EAD card after AOS approval, the Green-Card replaces it. Green-card IS Employment Authorization.
