Possibility of rescheduling interview

Hi visajourney-ers.

After a month since I filed Packet 3, I finally have an interview date - 11th June. 6 more weeks seems a long time to wait!!!

Anyway, since we began applying for the visa at the beginning of December, we had conservatively estimated that a mid-June wedding would be fine. However, the logistics are such that the next date we could do would be mid/late-July (we want as much of the family there as possible). The interview date kinda nixes the June wedding.

My question - is it possible to reschedule a visa interview? I assume that during the next 6 weeks there will be cancellations - so could I be put on a waiting list for an earlier interview date? I think I could get to the embassy within 24 hours notice.

Impatient? You betcha - we've been dating 3 years, and after living with her for so long, this long distance thing is becoming a bit of a drag!

Oh, I doubt this makes any difference in procedure, but I'm having the interview in London - UK.

Cheers!

London has been known to be very understanding when Wedding plans are involved actually. I think they work better if you include it in your cover letter when you send back packet 3 but def call them and get an email code - explain everything and keep your fingers crossed.

Good luck and keep us posted

I agree - we've not got anything set in stone. We are just hoping to have a date to tell people in the area so they can keep a given weekend free!

Thanks for the suggestions....

I shall probably call them every so often to see if they have a cancellation (though the premium rate line will limit the frequency at which I'll being doing it).

Cheers!

You should give it a try.. I too remember one couple who got their interview scheduled sooner than it was originally set, almost everyone told them it was not possible, but it was :)
