Does NVC mail you?

I think the USCIS is the culprit here......they don't leave you that easily from their icy grip......got NOA2 7 days ago and it still hasn't reached the NVC......probably still sitting in the USCIS mail room....its like a bad girlfriend that just won't get the message and go away...lol

You don't really have to nag. After one week, call. If they haven't received it, call every other day or so. Its easy.

You can call the NVC as many times as you want to get your case number. It's faster if you nag.

That’s what I did. Called about 2 or three times a week to see if they received it. Seems to take 3-4 weeks before they actually do get it.

Our petitions were approved April 2nd and only yesterday NVC confirmed receipt of our I-129F (when I called). I’m hoping it is on it’s way to Embassy by the end of this week. I may email them just to get peace of mind next week.

When calling NVC, I just kept hitting redial until it answers…then hit 1 and then 2. They will say you are waiting …then after a few moments, if a Spanish message comes back, you’ll be kicked out… So, I end the call and redial again…. If after the pause there is an English message, then you are in queue and just sit tight for awhile before they get to you.

I just emailed NVC at 'NVCINQUIRY@state.gov' and here is the automated reply I recieved:

Please be advised, as of April 4, 2008 our office has revised our guidelines for communication between the National Visa Center and the public. We are now required to verify case information each time we receive an inquiry.

According to U.S. law, the National Visa Center is only permitted to discuss details of a visa case with authorized representatives and when provided with all of the following information:

NVC case number or CIS receipt number

Petitioner's name and date of birth

Beneficiary's name and date of birth

Your full name

If you are the legal representative, please include a copy of your signed G-28, Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney or Representative, showing that you are the legal representative as well as the following information:

NVC case number or CIS receipt number

Petitioner's name and date of birth or Beneficiary's name and date of birth Attorney's law firm name Attorney's law firm address Your full name

If you are corresponding regarding an I-140 petition you must provide the following information:

NVC case number or CIS receipt number

Name of the petitioning company

Beneficiary's name and date of birth

Your full name

If you have not provided us with this information please resubmit your inquiry including the required information.

Sometimes, one can just be plain lucky. I called NVC this afternoon, sat on hold for about 4 mins., got a very nice lady. They received I-129F on 4/25, sent to Moscow 4/29. Petition approved 4/23, and on the way to Moscow 4/29. I'll take that anyday!

Just continue calling NVC. What my husband and I did was call and email them consequently until they provide us with our case number which we only got last April 29, Tuesday or say over a month after we got our NOA2. NVC btw only received our I-129F petition from USCIS last April 23... slow as always.

Anyhow, what's so weird is that the person who got my husband's call told him that we should be getting a letter from them after 4-6 weeks and this will let us know if we need to submit new evidences as required. Duh! I don't know if this person is just unaware of the process but from what I've read and know is that USCIS does all the documentation reviews and what NVC does is to assign case numbers and or facilitate interview preparation.

Another weird thing is that this person told my husband that they will be the one who will schedule an interview and medical for us which totally confused us because the most recent update of K3 Packet for Manila, Philippines specifically mentioned that people applying for the K type visas should be responsible in getting their own interview schedule. Oh well, surprisingly there are still unavoidable misinformations happening in the process but nevertheless we're so happy that we're at least one step further and close to being together.

i think no more updates after u got approval, coz my case are not updating anymore at the uscis websites.

We got touches even after our case has been approved which means your could be touch as well even if you've already got your NOA2. Also, our case online still says "case received and pending" even if our petition has already been sent to the local consulate and has been assigned a case number.

Yes NVC typically mails you a letter when they send the petition on to the consulate.

I waited a few weeks and then emailed NVC and got case number that way.

ok i jst got completely confused about something i knew about...well thought i knew. I was told by my attorney, which has done a rockin' job so far, that the nvc will contact us, request us to pay a fee and then we submit the affidavit of support at that time....before it went to the embassy.. we were approved (k-3) April 21 and someone on here, through private message suggested that petition probably already sent to embassy. i guess question is when does the support document and tax transcripts come into play??!!

That doesn't sound like K3.

I think that it's the CR1 process that has AOS and fee done at NVC stage

I just kept calling NVC until someone told me, "yes we forwarded your application to the embassy yesterday. Would you like your new case number?" They are really nice at NVC and the K-3 will be sent fairly quickly.
