Im just not sure how to answer that, do I think it will make a difference for us? No, I try not to think that it will, I would expect some type of order with USCIS, and with the backlog that they are trying to fix they really dont have extra hours to give for those people in that department, I mean, I would feel really awful if instead of the normal time for them they were forced to go longer than the 8-12 months that some of the people on this forum have to deal with :innocent: To be honest I really hope that they have different departments dealing with different applications, I really do.

Hey guys, think this will affect us on getting approvals ? :blink:http://www.ndtv.com/convergence/ndtv/story...2011:48:00%20PM

The H1-B influx was couple of weeks back, they should be pretty much through it by now

Anyhow, NVC and TSC also deal with the H1-B, so the workload will have been split up considerably ..... surely the only reason VSC would still be working on H1-B's would be if all of those applications were for New York ??? .... we all know it would probably be a split between LA and NY ..... CSC are through theirs and are rocking though I-130's

Kitty, I really can't see this affecting us now

Im just not sure how to answer that, do I think it will make a difference for us? No, I try not to think that it will, I would expect some type of order with USCIS, and with the backlog that they are trying to fix they really dont have extra hours to give for those people in that department, I mean, I would feel really awful if instead of the normal time for them they were forced to go longer than the 8-12 months that some of the people on this forum have to deal with :innocent: To be honest I really hope that they have different departments dealing with different applications, I really do.

If you're talking about the backlog around July/August .... they are totally through all of that. That would've been finished up around January/February looking at the approvals .... the fees went up in July 2007 right? We don't have a lot of June 2007 filers on this site do we ??? they are what would've been the backlog.

Sadly the backlog did delay our NOA1's. more so for the August - October filers ..... and if these guys are definately going by NOA1, then it's a bummer!! ..... but if you look at Delicia's spreadsheet which I've pinned a couple of postings back, the approvals are without a doubt coming through for NOA1's in December/January

Correct me if i'm wrong but I counted about (15) I-130 VSC approvals for April. I trully hope it is like Sara says.

Yes, Kitty, there's a lot we don't know about. Delica has been checking everyone's timelines and has been religiously updating her spreadsheet, even if they announce their approval or not. She is a star :star:

I think we should be counting from the date VSC received our applications, not Chicago lockbox. They received a lot of applications in the short period of two months, so I think maybe it created another backlog. My application(I'm a January filer) and the application of someone from September are received just month apart at VSC.So even if there are really couple of months between filing at VSC it's just a month or so.IMO that is the reason why approvals are so random. But that also happened at CSC and they are still much faster than VSC.I certainly hope that H1-b visas won't affect processing of I-130.

This would be the NOA1 date as I understand that's when they input us into the system at VSC. There was once a big clump of us waiting at the Chicago Lockbox, hence the delay for NOA1's at the latter end of 2007.

Jeca, do look at Delicia's spreadsheet and it will give you proof that they are working on December/January NOA1's .... you have a February NOA1 date like me, so we shouldn't be much longer after them, if not concurrently. I've noticed you've been getting touches, so they've definately been doing 'something' with your file .... maybe you could be the start of the February NOA1's at VSC ???? God I hope so, I really feel we won't be waiting too much longer .... and should definately have a better idea by the end of May. Today is May 1st ..... I really feel they will have started on February NOA1's by May 31st ..... the evidence would certainly show that this is more than possible.

We just need to see the K1's slow down a little more ..... and I think the wheels of the I-130 approvals will start to work at a faster rate.

I think the H1-B visa is still impacting processing time. Additionally, the influx of naturalization is probably the biggest impact. They don't have enough adjudicators and therefore resources are pulled to focus on other areas. With the presidential election coming up, the politicians are aimed to have all these potential voters ready, especially Democrats. For those of us who are US citizens, our request to bring our spouse in legally is being overlooked and placed in the back burner. Hence, I will not vote for this year's presidential election, for sure not democrats!

Yes, the H1-B visa's will still be in processing, but they should be at the tail end of it now .... the resources have been pulled to focus on other areas ..... K1's if you look. The K1's have been wizzing out of VSC for some time now, but, they are at last beginning to slow down, as they did at CSC .... CSC's are at a pretty much standstill and they are pumping out I-130's instead.

We really need to watch those K1's at VSC, 'cause if I'm correct, they're slowing down .... the VSC K1 forum is starting to complain .... this is super good for us, as I'm pretty sure once those wheels slow down more, our I-130's will start to speed up.

Sod the H1-B's, they're only worked on for a few weeks a year ... the K1's and I-130's however are not.

Im just not sure how to answer that, do I think it will make a difference for us? if you look at Delicia's timeline then it is not going by NOA1 at all.. there is NO consistency with the approvals in the last 2 months or so from VSC.

My USC Husband tried to get some form of definate visitors pass or visa or anything so I can visit with no issues ... he's born and bred USC ... and with years of Military under his belt including pretty awful deployments all in the name of his country .... the answer was "no can do"

Even with a visiters visa, the Officer at POE can still say no.

If you look at Delicia's timeline and at the NOA1's, there is definately consistancy of approvals.

Sure, there have been the odd early approval of an NOA1 date which was not in the mix as there have been a couple of expedites, but all in all, the evidence is there in black and white .... you're still thinking that it's the date you filed which is important, it seems not be (Pushbrk was most definate with this point) .... hence it's looked as though the approvals have been extremely willy nilly.

What the shame is for the latter end of 2007 filers is the fact their NOA1's were delayed due to the backlog at the Chicago Lockbox ... the NOA1's were sent out late and a bit all over the place.

It's your NOA1 date that you should be looking at, yours is January, and they are just starting to eat through those, slowly, but at least they are doing them.

Jelena, yes, I totally agree with the approvals coming not long after those who've been touched .... I've been watching your touch timeline avidly as you appear to be the 1st VSC February NOA1 (forget filing date) that has these amount of touches .... once you're approved there will really be hope for the February NOA1's. I hope my file is in your box.

As far as on-line payments and James' shortcuts, just follow my thread here and start getting your stuff together ASAP!

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=124755

You'll need to get your documents in order and ensure your DS-230 is filled in and ready to rock as soon as you're approved, I'm just holding off on the police certificate as the UK ones only last 6 months, just incase my approval is delayed by whatever.

There is a list of ####### you'll need to get together, I've tried to make it all as user friendly as possible.

On-line payments and James' shortcuts will be dealt with as and when, but at the moment, you just need to be ready to use them

Don't forget the photographs!!! the US sizing is in my list .... you'll need a few, so it's best to find someone who'll do them where you live.

Kman, according to Delicia's spreadsheet, VSC is running currently approximately 6 weeks behind, and not much longer .... forget the filing date and look at the NOA1 date

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pUr...RR7hdWQYg3KbwRg

Have some faith, your NOA1 is a March date .... if I'm correct VSC should be through the January NOA1's within a month and then onto February NOA1's .... you're after that, hopefully that should give you a rough idea of a timeline.

In the meantime, be getting your stff ready for NVC, preparing those documents will take time ... this should help you
