Oh, please do not get me wrong, as I'm as nervous as I can be!! Worried about everything!! I'm just trying to talk myself into hope! LOL

We've known each other just about 3 years now - I went there four times, staying two weeks, two weeks, ten days, and 40 days - We did not marry until the last trip - Talked online one year and spent one year meeting and spending time with each other before we got married. I really hope that all of those things are going to be in our favor, as we did not "jump" into marriage - I was skeptical and he's so laid back that it borders laziness! I've thought of everything - even hoping that our ages will be in our favor - Me being 25 in August 2008 and him being 26 in May 2008 - just over one year apart and him being the older one....

But I'm very aware that we, like anyone else, could be denied for a million different reasons. He does know the answers to all of those questions and many more - I sent a big book to him with everything in it - All the pictures (which he already has ) The first email and one email per month for the last three years, phone call records, ticket stubs, even copies of packages that he sent me (the address/customs labels) and photocopies of cards that he's sent to me as well. Also all the emails between him and my step dad, brothers, cousins, and friends.

In the back of this binder I put copies of every application and paper I sent to USCIS/NVC as well as letters they sent back to me - The only worry is that 15 days later and this package has NOT gotten to him. I'm really freaked out and worried about that. But I'm taking all the papers (as you suggested I 130, etc) to work tomorrow and I'm going to scan and email them to him as a precaution. As if he hasn't gotten that package by Saturday evening, he's going to have to go and print all of this out. Inshallah that won't be the case, but then again NEVER know :(

Thank you so much!!! All the advice and any information is most definitely appreciated.

Always keep money in hand. Here in USA doing anything going anywhere involves money. He's probably scared to go there without any money or insufficient funds. I doubt you guys would get a denial. I don't see any reason why they would and they could?

Receiving or sending from Algeria/Tunisia it will take alot of time. Just getting regular love letters from him I got it in 3 months!! 1 paper 3 months so a package if you express shipped it probably a month or a little over. They probably don't have a lot going that way and wait for it to pile up.

BTW I love shopping in Tunisia I LOVE LOVE LOVE the clothes and sexy boots I go shopping every year with my friends there. :P love Tunisia (L) haha off topic

Well I got an email back from the Embassy this morning

They said :

Dear Madam,

Your husband will have to pay medical fees ( to the doctor) . It is about $100.

In some cases, we need to take the fingerprints of an applicant. This process costs $80 and we can only determine if it is necessary at the time of the interview.

If an immigrant applicant is found ineligible under a section of the Immigration Law, and if a waiver is available for his ineligibility, he can submit a waiver request and pay the $545 fees.

Sincerely,

Consular Section

Tunis, Tunisia

We don't have $545 laying around to take with us lol So I talked to him and he's going to take 200 - 80 incase he falls under the fingerprint category and the rest to just make him feel safe. Should we fall under that waiver thing, I guess we'll have to drop back and reevaluate our strategy. Does anyone have insight as to what they mean by that part? What is the $545 for?

Wow, really??? I've been mailing to Tunisia for almost 3 years now and it's never taken anything more than 12-14 days (at max ) some things have gotten to him as fast as 8 or 10 days. I definitely feel like there is something going on right now though - as I stated before the letter NVC sent him (appointment letter) took from April 11th to April 29th to get to him. And as well the package I sent on April 15th has still not gotten to him - Must be a customs hold up or mail lag going on - I tracked my package and the hold up was that it didn't even leave the states for more than 10 days which is abnormal. In the past everything left the US within 2 days. Ah well not much we can do about it now!!

Sorry to hear that it took you 1-3 months just to get a letter! That's insane!! :(

As far as a denial, well I can't think of a reason that they would  and I have tried to consider all of the reasons, but they definitely "could" just like with anyone else - so all we can do now is just pray and hope that we've done everything the right way.

OMG I'm so with you on this one - I LOVE shopping in Tunisia - the stores, the souks, medina, etc I could just walk around for days and not eat or sleep, just shop hehe. I hear shopping in Djerba is great - I've got to get there and try it out sometime ... Hubby is not much of a shopper though lol
