Hi,

So I travelled to the US today through Toronto Pearson. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience but just a tip- give yourself plenty of time! I arrived at the airport almost 3 hours before my flight was due to leave. I went through customs(which was quick- no one was in line) and got to the immigration room at 2:55pm. My flight was at 5:35. I checked in, where they took initial fingerprints(digitally) and a photo. Then the agent said to sit and they'll call me to take another set of fingerprints. I waited. There were only 3 people ahead of me- only one doing the same process as me. The others were just simple visa checks etc. Only two agents were working. Anyways, at 4:35pm the agent calls me, takes my fingerprints and had me sign a form. He briefly explained the boundaries of the visa and gave me info about when I should expect the SSN and greencard. All in all, this took ten minutes. I was out of immigration at 4:45- had to go through security and catch a shuttle to my plane. I made it to the gate as they were getting ready to board the plane. I thought that I had given myself enough time but just made it.....

But I just have to say, it was a great feeling to be done with all of this.........

Sept. 5/08... Sent in Voter Registration Card

Sept. 9/08... SSA office to change status to "U.S. citizen"

Oct. 8/08... Applied in person for U.S. Passport

Oct. 22/08... U.S. Passport received

DONE!!! DONE!!! DONE!!! DONE!!!

Apr. 6/05... DS-230, Part I faxed to Vancouver Consulate

May 26/05... K-2 Interview - APPROVED!!!!

Sept. 5/05... Entered U.S.

Sept. 7/05... I-485 & I-131 sent to CLB

Feb. 22/06... AOS Interview - APPROVED!!!!! (Passport NOT stamped)

Dec. 4/07... I-751 sent to NSC

May 23/08... 10-Yr. PR Card arrives in the mail

Mar. 22/11.... N-400 sent to AZ

June 27/11..... Interview - PASSED!!!

July 12/11..... Oath Ceremony

Congratulations to you and welcome to the US. Glad you made your flight, and I too would have thought you would have enough time.

K-1 journey, AOS/EAD and ROC in my timeline

2011 March 31 - Sent off Naturalization pkg overnight to Texas

2011 April 1 - Arrived in Texas at 10:21 am

2011 April 1 - NOA (rec'd via snail mail April 8)

2011 April 7 - Cheque cashed

2011 May 5 - Biometrics (letter rec'd via snail mail April 15)

2011 May 9 - Placed in line for interview scheduling

2011 June 13 - Rec'd yellow letter (no change in status online)

2011 June 23 - Rec'd text that my case has been scheduled for interview

2011 August 1 - Interview (rec'd via snail mail June 27) PASSED

2011 August 3 - Rec'd email that my case has been scheduled for Oath

2011 September 1 - Oath ceremony (rec'd snail mail Aug 5)

2011 September 1 - All done, yeah.
