My friends were caught a little bit off guard. They can't believe it's so soon. I think in their minds a lot of them thought that it wasnt going to happen. Not that Bo and I wouldnt be together, but it's hard for them to picture me actually leaving.

that sounds so familiar! my friends are exactly the same.

My best friend called me after he saw my name on Facebook and he was actually in tears on the other end. He made me promise that we would spend a weekend together before I left. LOL literally did not let me say anything else until I promised :)

It'll be hard to say goodbye to them, but most of us are so spread out now anyway that we don't get to see each other very often. I told them I would just be a bit further now, but we'll stay in touch just like we have for the last 7 years since high school :)

Howdy all. It has been ages since I posted over here. I am usually in the regional area posting. My fiancee had her interview last month and they gave her the blue asking for the timeline and a list of relatives. I sent the timeline and her family here sent the list of family. She went back to the consulate on the 5th of this month to turn it over to them and they gave her the pink with a date of the 12th to pick up the visa. She is so excited that she is uncontrollable right now and still on the run and calling everyone and just going all out. She plans on coming after the end of the month and I have a feeling the wedding will be all planned out and all by the time she gets here. Her Aunts are already taking control of that stuff on this side because it seems that guys does not know anything about wedding stuff. I am taking it that they plan on me being there though.

I am a happy camper and it is hard to believe that they actually said yes to me. Maybe they were saying yes to her but regardless they said yes. My best friends are already planning the batchelor party and strangely no strippers are involved yet. 20 years ago that would have been the first thing planned. Strange how as we get older our priorities change. It seems that my own party is being taken over by aliens that look like my friends. So far it is a 4 day weekend and lots of golf at a major golf resort. I do know them so booze will be involved and huge quantities of it along with lots of food. I did ask how we can get strippers to show up at a golf resort and they looked at me like I was nuts so I guess I am out of the loop on those plans.

So in 2 days time I have gone from a old lonely single guy to a soon to be married clueless old guy who is incapable of having any control over anything.

Thanks Rocks. Been a hell of a journey.

i was starting to wonder what had happened to you. i'm glad it turned out well in the end, are you excited about her picking the visa up tomorrow?

Very excited and glad when she has it in hand. Until she does then I feel that we are still waiting for it and she does not have it. After her almost insane adrenaline rush from the pink I will also be waiting to see what happens when she does go get it.
