so... something nizzar and i have been wondering (just finished the last episode up until now) ... the whole jack-kate-sawyer triangle. are any of them really gonna hook up, or are they just lonely? even if kate is in love with either of them... i don't think jack is interested in the least. in fact, he seems quite clueless, even when she kissed him.

and who else thinks sayid is awesome ... but a little scary at the same time? ... speaking of which, they really took shannon out suddenly!

well the symbols are egyptian heiroglyphics: 200px-OneOfThemCap.jpg loosely translated to mean: cause death. hieroglyphs.jpg there was a definite audible noise when the heiroglyphics came up ... almost like huge hatch doors opening ... maybe some sort of nuclear device being armed.

sayid did meet kate's stepdad in the helicopter: lost-kates-dad-763933.jpg and he was looking at a picture of kate when she was younger: teen-kate-765041.jpg it's amazing how all their lives were/are intertwined somehow.

the new 'other' was henry gale, who crashed in a hot air balloon and said he was from minnesota ... which has odd references to the wizard of oz. henry gale was dorothy's uncle, the wizard arrived in oz via a hot air balloon, and the wizard was from minnesota, australia is commonly referred to as 'oz'. kinda reinforces the dream theory ... but whose dream is it?!?!?

wow.. never look into the detail before.. gotta pay more attention!!!

so what do you think will happen when the countdown gets past zero and past all the hiroglyphics? anyone think maybe it IS just an experament to see if someone will push a button every 108 minutes? personally, i don't think anything will explode, i think something else will happen ... something they wouldn't see or notice at first, but then get completely surprised by.

.... and michael did use the computer as an instant message device when the film specifically said not to. what kind of "incident" do you think this wil bring on like "last time"?

yeah, you are right. no 'result' has been shown. at least not that i am aware of. then again, micael did go grazy and ran off into the jungle never to be seen again. dunno.

I was just reading this on TV.com about that guy who they have captive...

Character name, Henry Gale.

The captive's name, Henry Gale, is the name of Auntie Em's husband from the classic 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. He also mentions getting to the island on a balloon. The Wizard of Oz also arrived in Oz in a balloon. Australia where flight 815 originated from is also refered to as "Oz"

interesting.....

_________________________________________________

I aslo read this...

The timer reaches zero in this episode. When the timer reaches zero, the clock switches to a series of hieroglyphics. The first three places are red color on black ground, the last two digits are black colored on red ground.

Only the first, third, fourth and fifth symbol are visible before the timer is reset in the very last moment:

# Digit 1 is egyptian for S (cloth)

# Digit 2 is not shown

# Digit 3 is not in the short version of the egyptian alphabet, it remotely resembles the symbols for ISH or MI

# Digit 4 is egyptian for AH (vulture)

# Digit 5 is not in the short version of the egyptian alphabet, it remotely resembles the symbols for H, S or B

Note: Egyptian texts are written without vocals and are read usually from right to left

_____________________________________________

another interesting thing I read was this.... this is from the episode called "The hunting Party" when they come in contact with the "Others"

When the leader of the others calls for the release of Kate. He calls the "other" that is holding her; Alex. This could possibly be the French woman Rousseau's daughter, who was taken by the others roughly 16 years prior to this.

___________________________________

wooaah, I never noticed this....

Francois Chau, the actor who plays Ana Lucia's therapist, also played Michael's therapist in episode 2.3, "Orientation." Coincidence? Probably not.

_____________________________________________

In the Orientation video, B.F. Skinner is mentioned. A famous Behaviourist, who is among other things famous for his "Skinner-Box" he performed studies to map the behaviour of people and creatures, (perhaps a hint of the purpose of the people in the hatch)

_____________________________________

If you look close at two of the scientists in the orientation video, they look very similar to two of the people who kidnap Walt (Malcolm David Kelley).

__________________________________________

In the first episode of the 2nd season, Walt appears to Shannon in the jungle. He motions for her to be quiet and then appears to whisper something. If anyone else noticed, what he says has actually been played backwards. If you take the clip and exported the sound file, played it backwards and can vaguely hear the words, " [Don't] press the button...[the button is bad]". This follows the storyline since Jack was about to press the 'Execute' button at the end of the episode.

Okay, so I did a wee bit of surfing for Lost "spoilers"... seems Libby isn't who she says she is. Don't know what she really is but it's something else.

Danielle Rousseau's daughter is joining the show, probably to be played by the actress who was "Malcolm in the Middle"s love interest, forgot her name.

The hieroglyphics on the counter spelled out a version of "small sickness", hinting that the event would involve a disease.

Claire gets some of her missing memories back on the next episode and we see some of what the Others did to her while she was kidnapped.

Ummmmm.... let me think... oh yeah, the mystery of why the plane crashed will be revealed in the season finale.

Agh I love Lost! I have to get into this discussion now.

I think it was bad they didn't do more on the timer reaching zero, they pretty much left it off after it happened. And how was Locke still able to reset it after it had reached zero? I was annoyed by this....they better address this issue in an upcoming episode!

The show is addictive-but it is so annoying when they air re-runs. I think the Island has some kind of magnetic field-and maybe that is why the plane crashed??????

I have read soooooo many things..........that Ekko's brother is alive on the Island somewhere, that Michael will return, but he will be a spy for the "others". I have read that Kate will die.........so many things. That is why I love the show-it's keeps ya guessing.

I think he was able to because the countdown hadn't quite finished and also I think this island is just a bog experiment to see how people react in different situations

Hmmm...well, if we want to get annoying and technical something like that would never be allowed by APA ethics as a valid psychological experiment (I'm a psych major, I know these things ;) Lol  ).

But seriously, it also occured to me that it hadn't quite finished and there was a little grace period right before whatever it is that happens would happen. The hieroglyphics were creepy looking, weren't they!
