All done! Hehe Was quite an eventful day for Jihed, but he got her done! :) Woke up at like 5am, took the 6am train into Tunis - got there around 8:30 am and left the train station only to find that yesterday was the day that the president of Tunisia, Ben Ali and the President of France were going to have a walk around the main street (Avenue Habib Bougourbia) and the police had shut everything down! They put everyone off the streets, closed all the shops and cafe's and were limiting where the taxi's could go. Jihed needed to get a taxi to get about 10 minutes away or 15 minutes and he had a wee bit of a hard time doing that, but all ended up okay. He was laughing and in good spirits telling me that he did not go to Tunis for 9 months, since the last time that I left him and the one day he goes of all the days, the President decides to have a nice stroll around the town.

The doctor who did his exam was Canadian. A very nice lady and he said her office was very professional. He did not eat after midnight the night before- they never told him to do this, but he just thought it was better safe than sorry (Having to reschedule and go back into Tunis another day)

He arrived around 9am and they talked with him, gave him papers- all in all he ended up going to the Xray (Radiology) building a few doors down and also to the pharmacy to get two vaccinations she said he needed. He had blood work done also at another building and then came back to see the doctor.

DH is really a funny guy so he was recounting the day in great humor - talking about two women that he met in the waiting room who were going to Canada. He said after being there 10 minutes the entire place knew their life story and that *THEY* were going to Canada. Finally he'd heard enough of their extremely loud talking and chattering (He said Tunisian women love to talk too much) and he turns to the one girl and says like a true smart ####### - So where are you going?

She told him Canada (as if he didn't know) and they started talking about the exam - Turned out the same exact medical exam and routine for her was costing a lot more money than he was paying ? On everything yesterday - he spent 120 dinar - about 110 USD and the girls going to Canada said it was all costing them more than 300 Tunisian dinar - I thought that was really strange.

He also met a third woman (what the heck? hehe) who was going to the US. They started talking and it turned out she's going to New Jersey (He's coming to Delaware) and that they it was cool how close they were headed. She said that she married a Tunisian American in March 2007 and they filed in the same month - but her interview is not until the end of May. She was really upset and angry with him - Why was it he married me in June 2007 and I didn't send the papers until the last day of July 2007 but his interview was 5 May and hers not until much later -

He just kinda :unsure: and said he didn't know. I said well I'm not sure either -I did call USCIS and NVC every single day and have my Senators call and I bugged the living daylights out of them as well as sending 100% more information than they could ever need or want with every application - but I told him there's just no way to know the answer to that. Could be any number of reasons.

Anyway - he was starving to death - told the doctor he was going to eat while he waited on them to print up some papers - He said he spent 120 dinar on the exam and another 120 dinar on food - hehe Poor boy!

Nonetheless, he got out of there by around 1pm but missed the last train back to Jendouba so had to take the louage - He never does well with those - louage drivers are majnoun and he always gets sick  But he said it wasn't too bad and he was glad to be home. Tired but okay. Ran to the pc to let me know all went well and he had all the envelopes in hand for the medical portion. And that he had collected 4 more passport pictures, a new bulletin number 3, new copies of our marriage certificate and his birth certificate, as well as his diplomas. Boy is ready to go. hehe - I feel bad for ever doubting him before.

Now we just wait for the interview on Monday - 5 May can't come soon enough. I'm nervous - the package I sent him on 16 April still had not gotten there as of yesterday (Monday) so I called the postal service here only to be told the thing did not leave the USA until 24 April - I went crazy - asking why if I paid all that extra for him to have it in 7 days does it not even leave the US for 10 days? The girl told me it appeared to be a delay in customs and was out of her control. I'm nervous now thinking he's not going to get it in time for his interview :( Which is a real bummer because I put so much work into it.

He told me not to worry (yeah right, that's like telling me not to breathe) that he would take all the photos he had from our 4 meetings and marriage, etc and print off some emails and to just relax - Again, It's not working!! I hate the post office! hehe

Here we go - another nervous week - Let's see if I crack before Monday!!!
