We finally got the I-129f sent off and according to UPS it was delivered. We were looking at other timelines on here and just curious what we have to do next. We were also curious what is touched and what exactly are packets 3 and 4.

Congratulations! your journey has been starting now.Usually it takes 6 months or more for the approval,

much quicker if you sent it to Vermont.

Just stick around on VJ you will learn so much about the processing of your case.

GOd luck and God bless. I pray for your hassle free and speedy approval.

Grab the box set of your favorite TV series - I would recomend something that went for at least 10 - 15 years - A few dozen good books

And wait............

After first three months - repeat as required

And wait............

Did I mention the wait?

And of course..................wait :)

Congratulations for taking the first step. Our application was approved 127 days from the day USCIS received our papers (4+ months). The waiting would feel like forever, so you better find ways to occupy your time. Our case was only touched once, unlike other cases who were touched many times. To be able to know the status of your case, after you received your NO1, you register on USCIS website. It is where you can see "touches." I personally don't think touches are that important, because we were only touched once, but was approved without any problem (thanks God!). I am not sure if Philippines and Germany have the same processing system when it comes to the interview period. Before, the Embassy sent packet 4 (list of requirements, docs to fill up to be submitted during the interview). But now, they no longer send these docs, but download the docs (DS Forms) and fill them up online.

Good luck in your journey! Keep the hope and faith, and most of all, keep the love alive

Congratulations to you :)

Although I would encourage that you research this website, as it has all the information anyone needs with regards to what 'touches' are, packet 3s/4s, RFE examples etc. Once you receive a hard copy of NOA1, sit back relax and wait for your NOA2!

Congratulations on filing!

Vermont is NOT taking 6 months in most cases...

We were approved in just over 2 months...The Frankfurt Embassy is ESPECIALLY quick and after the approval of the I-129F in Vermont, the whole process goes pretty quickly.

After the approval, you'll receive packet 3 that gives you some more documents to fill out and some instructions on documents you need for the interview. If you want to speed up the process, you'll have these other docs before you receive packet 3.

Once you return packet 3, they'll issue packet 4. Packet 4 has your interview date and some final instructions.

The embassy is pretty quick. If you look at our timeline, you'll see the progression. Good luck!

If the non-USC doesn't have a passport then s/he needs to get one and make sure s/he is up to date on all vaccines. Congrats on getting that I-129F out - that's the first step  .

Good luck

hey everyone thanks very much for the info its hard enough being away from each other as I am sure everyone here knows lol and ya'll have given us a little more hope. I called the help desk to find out about the I-129F processing times and they told me the projected date is December 9th and my mouth hit the floor. That made us both a little uneasy about the times. Oh and btw I just got all 3 seasons of House and I think I have them memorized.

House is great! ;)

Umm they told you December???? That even puts you out of their-called so 6 month processing time. I bet if you called back someone else would tell you an entirely different time. That's just one of the many wonders of the USCIS! First rule of thumb, don't believe everything you hear! Even if it does come from an 'official' source. ;)

If you look at your timeline, your projected date (based on other vj'ers) is June 25th. Usually it's before even that time.
