I noticed they are starting to schedule for September...anyone tried calling????

How did you find this out?

I go on the US Embassy in Kingston website...and then I go to the NIV appointment schedule calendar...I click on shedule an appointment and then it will ask you for a barcode number...if you click on the Electronic Visa Application Form link and then click on the DS-156: Nonimmigrant Visa Application link it will take you to the application...on the bottom just click next and it will bring up a barcode number...i copy that barcode number and enter it and it will show you the calendar...if you see the dates shaded blue that means that the day is fully booked with appointments...

So in essence, they schedule the NIV interviews before the IV interviews? That is really unfair to all you who are waiting so long.

Claire....someone has said on this board that the NIV need less background checks and such because you continue to process a lot of that stuff in the US. Where, the IV goes through a lot more "before" stuff and, thus, everything takes longer.

Yeah, he's just frustrated. Me and the Mr. have issues too once it gets to the 4 month mark. I think thats when your faith is tested and the devil is released to try an reck havoc on your lives. It is very difficult to be away from the person you are in a relationship with. After awhile you start to forget them and who they are cause you are only left with memories. Then your mind starts to play tricks on you. I say its worth $600 to visit your husband and cater to your marriage. Your marriage is a priceless jewel. If you can lock in a ticket now, go for it. It will truly rejuvenate your relationship to be together.

Keep the faith. I am praying that September gives us waiting some good news. Even if I dont get a date but other VJ'ers do I know that the embassy is moving and making there way towards me.

I think its a man thing. They dont really know how to express their feelings correctly and truth be told I think most Jamaicans just tell it how they see it. And his statement is an honest one. Of course its a hurtful one too, but he was just speaking from the truth. Its hard. But he'll get past this feeling and move into another one. He just has to keep the faith in what God is planning for the 2 of you.

Well it will be 4 months if I get a September date. If not, I go into waiting 5 months. Hell, I been waiting for a minute now. I know you have too. I hope we hear something soon.

Marlta, I agree 'I say its worth $600 to visit your husband and cater to your marriage. Your marriage is a priceless jewel." Being married and separated is the hardest thing to do, it is different than if you are engagned or dating. You have already made that commitment to serve and spend the rest of your life with that individual. I hear what the others are saying, but I still don't believe that they understand the strain and pressure being married and separted put on you. Yes, if I had to do it over, I would do the K1, but I married my husband because I wanted us to begin our lives together, not understanding that the visa process could take a whole year out of our marriage.

Malta, glad to see the earth quake didn't shake you.
